"Very Nice .. Important to read"
I would like to start my review by denying all other negative comments that talk about dirty rooms and dirty atmosphere .. My general comments about my stay ( 5 nights x 3 suite rooms ) there is : 1) great building .. very nice lobby 2) reception staff were tough and never smile especially the old aged ladies .. not once .. everytime 3) rooms was nice .. clean .. homemade staff very nice 4) alot of bars and restaurants inside .. club .. karaoke.. bet club .. which means you don't need to go out of hotel sometimes 5) I pay alot for parking my car while I had 3 suites reserved .. we shouldn't pay for parking .. or at least lower the price .. I don't need to pay everytime I go out .. one fixed price for all day 6) moscow is full of beautiful girls .. and if you are there girls will be friendly to you and try to talk to you and some of them for sex and that's not only in this hotel .. it's everywhere .. but management control it in a very good way that they don't allow them to pass security line to guest rooms unless you want it 7) machines for snacks and drinks everywhere in floors . So in general am very satisfied but I wish they can fix my negative comments especially reception should always smile whatever the customer need .. and the parking Goodluck

"Decent hotel good price"
At first we were lost, and found it very difficult to find the entrance to our building as it was dark and the main entrance was closed. The first room we were given was poorly maintained with broken taps and a shower head which wasn't fitted to the wall. The room divider was also a broken piece of metal which stuck up and hurt our feet. We complained and were moved to another room, which was a completely different story. The second room was cleaner, better fitted and more comfortable. If we had been in that room from the start, we'd have given the hotel a solid 4* review. It was nice. Overall the hotel gets a 3* review for initially giving us a sub standard room, but they moved us to a better room which is good.

Most of the staff did not speak English so various arrangements went wrong. Moscow is quite a tough place for visitors and so hotel support is vital. Only one member of the hotel staff provided this. The wifi was not working although it was promised. It is not possible to market a hotel to tourists and businesspeople and not provide wifi. Every day it was promised for the next day but it was never connected. This cost me a vast deal of money on my phone - nearly as much as the cost of the stay. This should be made clear when the hotel is advertised.

"Convenient and relatively inexpensive"
Hotel Tourist is one of the cheapest hotels in Moscow. It is located about a 15-minute walk from the Botanical Garden Metro station. Although the hotel rooms are not fancy, they are very clean. On the downside, the rooms are not air conditioned and the staff speaks very limited English. Some additional information: the hotel has wireless internet in the lobby (for a fee) and the staff was very efficient in getting a taxi for us to the airport at 3:00 am. Also, there is a very nice cafe on the premises (with A/C and free wireless internet).

"Clean but not very inviting"
The room was clean, bed and furnishings were new. The hotel staff speaks no English (I shouldn't expect them to as US staff don't speak every language) so that is not a factor of the review, just an FYI... The breakfast was decent and it is in walking distance to the metro. No ameneties, just a room.

"Great for price, probably worth more"
Very good experience when compared to typical Russian hotels. Of course staff has the usual Russian lack of smiles or friendliness but, don't forget, you are in Russia. Two rooms use one bathroom, but there were not many people staying in the hotel, so the bathroom was all ours. I think that’s typical. Room was clean, nothing stolen from room after room service. Easy 10 minute walk to Metro. The most impressive part, to me, was the quality of the breakfast buffet that came with each morning. It was good, with a wide variety of Russian foods that prevented boredom and food was replaced before it ran out. They even changed it up from day to day. I was expecting a bad experience for how little I paid, but ended up very satisfied. Would recommend. In fact, I probably will stay again.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
