"Beautiful Hotel"
It is a beautiful hotel. When you open the window in the morning you have a great view on the canal. Having breakfast on the front dock is more beautiful. The only cons in this hotel. That is the opposite side of the most knowing activites and the shops. They offer only two going free shuttles 8:00am and 8:30 pm and one coming back shuttle 11pm. Thats it

"Lovely location, lovely staff, fantastic food."
The Lido is a great place to stay. Frequent water buses take you over to the mainland and smaller islands and it is great to be able to relax away from the busy streets of the city. The hotel is situated right by the water. Full of old Italian charm. The staff were both friendly and efficient. The food - WOW! Just fresh local produce made into delicious meals. Our only regret was that we wished we could have stayed longer!! We all want to return to Venice and we all want to stay here again.

"Beautiful hotel .. But no air con!!"
Stayed there for one night to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Its a bit of a trek to get there as its on Lido Island which is about 1 mile away from the main Venice island. You can initially get there by water taxi or River bus from the main drop off point. The walk from the water bus terminal on Lido island to the hotel is about 1 mile so unless you fancy the exercise I would get a taxi (which will cost you 10 euros). Check in was fine although the mandatory offer of upgrade was there .. Just another 100 euros for a room with a sea view .. (we declined) Room was in keeping with the rest of the hotel but being on the 5th floor with outside temperatures around 25 degrees it was hot and stuffy.. No problem, turn on the air con I thought.. Nothing happened so I phoned downstairs to be told that the air conditioning for the hotel hadn't been turned on yet.. The suggestion was that it gets turned on when the weather gets consistently hotter (?).. After a bit of grumbling a portable fan was brought up which to be honest didn't make a whole lot of difference. The hotel was practically empty so there was no poolside drinks service which was also disappointing.

Try it, love it and go back again! I have stayed at many 5 star hotels but this is by far the best. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

"Perfect location. Great staff."
We had a wonderful time in stunning Venice. The hotel is perfectly situated with lovely decor and really friendly, helpful staff. We were upgraded to a delux room ( room 1 ) from a standard room. The room was quite dull and felt quiet imposing. The bed was very high and so a wide wooden step had been placed at each side of the bed to help with getting in. During the first night my wife got up to use the bathroom and missed her footing on the step and fell quite heavily banging her head, shoulder and back. Apart from a big bruise and sore shoulder and being a bit shook up I am relieved that was all that she sustained. We did not inform reception as my wife didn't want to make a fuss and no serious harm had come from it but we would hate for this to happen again to someone else.

Dorsoduro 779, Venice - Map
This hotel is situated well for getting all around Venice easily and still being in a quiet, peaceful part of the city. We could walk or jump on a vaparetto to anywhere, and we did! The breakfast is adequate, nothing great, and the one real complaint is that the pillows are the worst, hard and solid, not comfortable at all for sleeping! Nice staff and plenty of hot water!

Giudecca 33, Venice - Map
"Beautiful garden setting"
This is an exceptional hotel. The location on Giudecca is ideal. The gardens are simply stunning. My only quibble is the breakfast. Don't get me wrong: it is ample and high quality but more assistance would be good. The terrace is a wonderful location for breakfast but every winged species known to man including ferocious seagulls will swoop as soon as your back is turned. One more thing: in the Bauer across the water prosecco is served at breakfast, a delightful touch. I expected the same here but the arrangements are obviously quite different.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
