Although it was a very nice property, we noticed our bathroom vanity light did not work. Our hot water kettle was covered in dust, and there were 2 tea bags but no coffee or sugar. 2 of the 4 pillows were completely flat. The bed was less comfortable than other beds we slept in along the Ring Road. We would probably seek other accommodations for a future Reykjavík visit.

Short stay in Reykjavik

Room was comfortable although not large. Issues though included street noise when bars let out throughout the night (up to 3am). Also a kettle and 2 tea bags…no coffee option which is standard in hotel rooms. Also the restaurant downstairs is not part of the hotel so there is no room service or ability to charge things to your room. Location is very good. Building new or modernized anyway.

Great location!

Hotel Von is located in the perfect location for exploring the city. You can walk to the harbor or the old square in about 10 minutes, and you have plenty of resaturants and shopping around you. We were able to store our bags after checking out so we could explore before leaving. I would stay here again next time in Reykjavik.

Wonderful Stay

Fantastic stay at Hotel Von. You can't beat the location of the hotel within a short walk to local attractions, restaurants, shops, and local pool. The staff was helpful, friendly, and the restaurant was perfect for a quick breakfast or dinner.

Exceptional Stay for a Solo Traveler 5 stars

Absolutely outstanding—Hotel Von deserves more than 5 stars! As a solo female traveler, I couldn’t have felt more cared for. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was safe, comfortable, and seamless. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and I especially appreciated that they held my luggage during my excursions—especially since my three-night stay wasn’t consecutive. The rooms were charming, well-designed, and cozy, and the bathrooms were fantastic—modern, clean, and thoughtfully appointed. My only minor critique would be the bathroom lighting, which could be improved, but that’s just a personal preference. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Von for anyone looking for a warm, safe, and well-run place to stay. I would absolutely return!

Molly’s Amazing adventure

It was a wonderful stay. All of the staff were very kind. Especially Bruno and his co worker on the evening food and wine shift. Bruno makes the best lemon martini and margaritas! The hotel is right downtown on one of main streets. Grocery store is next door. Buy duty free on the way in. The wine/liquor shop is a hike.

Hotel Von was an excellent hotel for my first time in Reykjavik! Great location with short walks to the main sites and flybys stop, very kind and helpful staff and good breakfast options. Will stay again
