We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We arrived early because of our flight and were able to check in early (with a small fee). The room was kind of small, but it had a window that opened and was very clean and quiet. The bathroom was nice and had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was great! It was not what we were used to, and that's what made it so good. The first morning there was herring! The dining area filled up quickly so be aware of that. The bar was small, but there were several barstools and a good variety of drinks. We enjoyed their happy hour on both evenings of our stay. I recommend staying at Reykjavik Lights, especially if you are going on a cruise.

Clean and efficient. Lack of elevator access to room 317. Required carrying luggage up a flight of stairs. Very! small room. Could easily hear others in the hall and nearby. I'll find a different place next time.

My wife and I spent our final 3 nights of a 15 day trip to Iceland at Reykjavik Lights. We found it to be a terrific finale to a terrific trip. The facility is first class, the staff is attentive and pleasant, and the breakfast is a delightful way to start the day. It is also reasonably priced when compared to the general Reykjavik market. Highly recommend.

When we tried to sign in there were 5 people ahead of us with 1 worker and 1 woman watching her- maybe training her? We waited for 10 min to be signed in. When we got to the room the door to the bathroom doesn’t shut properly. We could hear all of the people in other rooms having to slam their doors shut to close them. The general area is dumpy around the hotel. Breakfast was the saving grace for this hotel.

Great Iceland visit

Very nice modern hotel, though small especially counter space in bathroom. Great breakfast and very good service. Also very helpful in advance with advice on email with any questions, such as transportation to the airport or City Center.
