Comfortable stay

We stayed at Sunna Guesthouse for 3 nights. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. The room was basic and small, but clean. There was a small shared kitchen next to our room, which was convenient for keeping snacks and soft drinks. The Guesthouse is very convenient to the main shopping area and areas of interest. We considered the Guesthouse a very good value for the money.

I booked a double-bed room in the Guesthouse Sunna hotel for two nights (Jun 7 and Jun 8). When checked in the hotel, we were told that we booked the double-bed room with only one guest. The double-bed room should be at least for two people in a common sense. We have traveled a lot countries in Europe, South/North America, it is the first time we heard a double-bed for one person only. So be careful, don't assume that the double-bed room is for two people when you deals with Sunna.

Very convenient, as hotel is located directly across from landmark Halgrimskirka, a church that features top-drawer organ recitals that may or may not be secretly dedicated to Thor, a location allowing for easy navigation back to bed from anywhere in the city for anyone still able to lift his head to the horizon.

The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The guesthouse is clean and comfortable. It is in a great location. The shared bathroom setup was not inconvenient. Check in and check out were quick. It was exactly as advertised. Eat at Loki which is right by the guesthouse.

Decent Value for the Price but Odd Design Choices

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean the hotel was, especially given the low price. The location was amazing — walking distance to everything — and the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. We really appreciated the free parking (though limited) and the flexibility with a late checkout at 12:30. They even let us park along the wall when the main spots were full. The room was small but bright thanks to a large window. Being on the first floor, we needed a sound machine to block out street and hallway noise. The beds were only twins, which wasn’t ideal for a couple, and comfort was about 7/10. There were also a few quirks: no fridge in the room (just a tiny shared one in a small common area), no body wash provided, and the bathroom had a clear glass sliding door instead of a proper wall — awkward for privacy. Ventilation was poor, and the room got incredibly steamy after a shower. Overall, it’s a great budget-friendly option in a prime location, as long as you’re okay with some unusual design choices.

The location was great for tour bus and shuttle pick up. easy walk to restaurants and shops. No dresser to put clothing in, just a small place to hang a few things. Breakfast was just adequate.

Lovely stay across from the famous landmark church. Well located, clean and comfortable. Front desk very helpful with arrangements. Must arrange breakfast night before (which we didn't know) and rooms facing the street can be noisy as you need to leave windows open. Otherwise great stay!

Clean and neat! Very good location- just right on the corner of the big church and rainbow road. Five stars! The only thing is they don’t have elevator, so if you have big luggage, you need to carry them upstairs at your own.

Great location, reception let us in early as we had come straight from the airport after a long overnight flight. Room was just what we needed and small kitchen next door was great for storing items in the fridge and heating up leftovers.
