Center Hotel Laugavegur was a great place to stay. My wife (48), son (8) and I (45) stayed her for four nights. Highlights: breakfast buffet, 2 connected restaurants, clean & modern Lowlights: super busy, under staffed

A few days in the captial

Perfect location - right at the beginning of the shopping street - close to stores and restaurants. Room was nice and had all the basic amenities. My issue was with the front desk staff - when we checked in they waere not very helpful and had an attitude that was unacceptable . We came by car and they were exptemely unhelpful with explaining where to park - hotel lot was full. Hotel is fairly large but the parking lot had space for about 10 cars..... Having said all this, i have stayed in several hotels in Reykjavik and this one is a good value during the high season.

Great marks across the board!

Definitely take everything out of your car. The private parking lot behind the hotel was great. The shops down the street are great for walking to and great restaurants nearby and kaffee! The staff was fabulous! Especially Jose! I would stay here again.

Everyone was friendly and very helpful. They all spoke excellent English so communication was easy. If catching a tour the tour bus stop #9 is right next to the hotel so it makes touring around very easy

I never would have booked this room if I’d known what I was getting. No view and half the room was below ground level putting the windows, which are the only way you can cool the room, at pavement level with the parking lot. So just a few feet from guest vehicles and next to the garage dumpsters. No screen to keep creatures out. The desk gave us a small desk to fan to help.

Great location, fantastic breakfast

The room is small and there is a bit of street noise at night, but the location is so convenient and walkable to everything in downtown Reykjavik. Parking is just across the street. This hotel had the best breakfast spread of any hotel during our stay in Iceland.
