There wasn't much of a view out the window, but I didn't pay for a view. I paid for a clean, comfortable room and a hot shower and that's exactly what I got. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I don't remember the lady's name that checked me in, but she was great at her job and made me feel very cared-for. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

Stayed here on a family vacation in the summer and everything was so near in a car. Very nice and helpful staff gave us great recommendations. Breakfast wasn't very good, but we had an outstanding breakfast nearby at Mckays Cottage.

When my husband and I vacation, it's all about the hotel...and The Oxford delivered! Prior to our arrival we received a phone call informing us that a festival would be occurring during our stay and that parking would be difficult. The Oxford's valet service was very helpful and accommodating - completely solving the problem. At check-in we were greeting with a friendly and helpful staff that seemed genuinely glad we were there (actually, every time we walked through the lobby we were greeted in a warm manner). The room and bathroom were spacious and we loved the nice touch of a "fire" greeting us on the TV screen. We took advantage of the hotel's bikes to explore Bend and the hotel restaurant (for both drinks in the evening and room service - excellent for both - get the fries trio and bacon mac&cheese!!!). Great downtown location. Fantastic staff. Wonderful atmosphere. We intend to visit Bend again and will definitely stay at The Oxford.

The unofficial “Rock Hound Capital of the United States,” central Oregon's Prineville features a variety of gemstones hidden within the area's forests and high deserts. For some history, the city's Bowman Museum offers a gallery with major displays on the City of Prineville Railroad and the timber industry. In addition to a military exhibit, the museum also offers smaller features on pioneer life.
