Location was great, room and overall hotel is showing it age and looking dirty, there was hair from previous people in the bathroom and the shower head sprayed water all over the floor. Would choose a different hotel next time in Portland.

Reasonable deal

Centrally placed hotel, convenient to chain restaurants and local breweries. Definitely could use some renovations as some things were worn down (I.e. peeling paint, loose fixtures). We only needed one cleaning service and they didn’t make our bed, just tidy up the room, emptied our trash cans and cleaned the bathroom. Pros: comfortable clean beds, walkable to Starbucks, 11 am check out, spacious rooms, good for a family trip. Cons: definitely could use maintenance work, parking fee (not high compared to the city but unnecessary since parking isn’t scarce), not offered cookies at check in - which I thought to be customary at Double Tree (not a deal breaker, but try a little at least).

Disappointing

Acceptable, but disappointing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. The airport shuttle was convenient. However, there was no clock in the unit, there was only one wastebasket (under the desk, none in the bathroom), there was hair left in the bath tub. Disappointing!

Nothing special.

Hello. The people that work at the hotel are quite nice. The hotel is old though and could use some updating, especially the bathrooms. But also, the room seemed like it could be cleaned better. It was cold so I turned up the temperature on the thermostat thinking it would turn off the air conditioning, but it turned on the heat and the unit was producing a weird smell like it needed to be cleaned so I turned it off. The breakfast was bland, nothing special at all.

Girls Trip

The front desk staff were great. My reservation didn’t include breakfast since I booked through third party but the staff accommodated and gave it to me. The food however was not the best. I ended up taking a few bites and then leaving to go get bk elsewhere. The rooms are nice but don’t receive thorough cleanings. The window still was covered in dust and someone wrote clean me. When I left my room for the day I put the do not disturb sign on the door however housekeeping still came in and gave me new towels but didn’t make up beds or do anything else. Overall, decent hotel and great location.

Creepy

What a weird hotel. This place looks like they hired an architect who usually designs waste water plants. It's two round towers that look out over a dying mall and an abandoned Cracker Barrel scenic. There's no landscape to see from your tower, just the ugly roof of the middle flat part of the building, and all of the other rooms in the other tower that you can see directly into. But don't worry, you won't have your curtains open anyway since the sun beats directly in and bakes the room to a million degrees and easily overwhelms the gasping outdated AC unit. The awkward round hallways, small elevators, and wedge-shaped rooms mean it's difficult to get your suitcases lugged up and in. But don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to fuss with them as the elevators are barely functional and the room key sensors often don't work on the first try. When you do get into the rooms, you won't want to stay as they're filthy. Someone had very clearly been sick all over ours at some point before us. A cursory wipe down had been accomplished but there were still drips all down the walls and cabinetry. I'm not very worried, though, as it had clearly been long enough between their stay and ours that the shower curtain was able to grow a healthy mold colony. I don't want to talk about the floors. I've already scheduled a hepatitis screening. The redeeming part of our stay was the people. They were so clearly over worked and still friendly and helpful. Do better, management.

This hotel was a complete letdown and absolutely not worth the money. No complimentary coffee in the lobby, carpet had stains, and the towel hook was literally falling off the wall. When I asked for shaving cream, they handed me a useless little packet that was a joke. The pool area didn’t even have towels available. For the price they charge, the basics should be covered—this place failed across the board.
