What a weird hotel. This place looks like they hired an architect who usually designs waste water plants. It's two round towers that look out over a dying mall and an abandoned Cracker Barrel scenic. There's no landscape to see from your tower, just the ugly roof of the middle flat part of the building, and all of the other rooms in the other tower that you can see directly into. But don't worry, you won't have your curtains open anyway since the sun beats directly in and bakes the room to a million degrees and easily overwhelms the gasping outdated AC unit. The awkward round hallways, small elevators, and wedge-shaped rooms mean it's difficult to get your suitcases lugged up and in. But don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to fuss with them as the elevators are barely functional and the room key sensors often don't work on the first try. When you do get into the rooms, you won't want to stay as they're filthy. Someone had very clearly been sick all over ours at some point before us. A cursory wipe down had been accomplished but there were still drips all down the walls and cabinetry. I'm not very worried, though, as it had clearly been long enough between their stay and ours that the shower curtain was able to grow a healthy mold colony. I don't want to talk about the floors. I've already scheduled a hepatitis screening. The redeeming part of our stay was the people. They were so clearly over worked and still friendly and helpful. Do better, management.

This hotel was a complete letdown and absolutely not worth the money. No complimentary coffee in the lobby, carpet had stains, and the towel hook was literally falling off the wall. When I asked for shaving cream, they handed me a useless little packet that was a joke. The pool area didn’t even have towels available. For the price they charge, the basics should be covered—this place failed across the board.

Unhygienic

We came upon a shower that was filled with the previous guest’s hair all over, which is extremely unhygienic. The carpet was very very dirty. We were lacking towels, shampoo and soap. Even though we had requested some, we came back to the hotel on Sunday night to find that the rooms had not been cleaned and the front desk’s reply was simply: “none of the rooms were made, we were short on staff”.

It just felt really obvious all the different ways the parent co of Double Tree has cut corners to make hotels worse for patrons and employees in favor or shareholder wallets (despite prices being astronomically higher with no additional benefits to the patrons or staff)

Bad experience

Hotel is weird shaped. Rooms were tiny and smelly. The hotel was under construction. The elevators were out of service and we had to drag our bags up and down on stairs. Staff was very rude.

Rooms are surface clean only, someone else's toothpaste splatter was on the bathroom counter, grit and mold in the tub area, dirt and dust accumulation on the carpets. While maid service was requested, it was not received. As I was early for check in, I sat in the reception area. Front desk staff was curt with many of the guests, turning them away from check in before 3 PM, rather brusquely I might add, without checking the computer to see if the rooms were ready. I saw no one in management, or at least no one dressed professionally enough to be considered a manager, my entire stay. Overall, I am very disappointed with this Double Tree by Hilton and will not be returning.
