I was told there was some painting work still being finished when i arrived, but it was all done at times when i was away from the hotel. Staff could not be more friendly. I asked about my transfer back to the airport, it was arranged for me, and a packed lunch, as i was leaving early. Restaurant was overlooking the river, great to have breakfast, food was very good. It was nice to open the curtains in the morning, and see the boats in the marina. Friendly well run hotel, i would return again

The apartment was lovely. Nice furniture, well equipped kitchen and comfy bed. It was clean and tidy and the cleaners came each day. The rest of the aparthotel had great facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, pool table, small gym, sauna and restaurant with good priced food and drinks. The staff were very friendly and informative and spent time going through a local map with us, explaining where the best restaurants were. The location is perfect if you want to be near to the town but not in the thick of it.

The view of the beach and the sea from the balcony is breathtaking and the sound of the waves is relaxing. Yes the location is excellent and only minutes from the beach and the bars and restaurants of Praia da Docha.
Whilst our room was great, the rest of the hotel is a little tired in places and could do with a bit of tlc.The pool is magnificent and was just about warm enough in April. It is allegedly heated but it must be quite a marginal impact.
When we stayed there, the hotel did not seem to have many guests and the large bar area was almost always completely deserted. Similarly when we had breakfast there were only a few tables occupied in a large dining room. The selection of food available was excellent although the lack of turnover meant that the hot food was really only lukewarm. We did not have any other meal there.
I was disappointed that the spa was being refurbished and the gym is absolutely tiny for such a large hotel.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and really helpful and certainly helped to make our stay an enjoyable one.
The large casino is attached but we never ventured inside but we were told that the food and entertainment provided were good.
We had a hire car and this was valet parked for us at no charge which was an added bonus. Also the free wifi worked well
All in all if you want a quiet hotel with an excellent location this is the one for you. After all you are only minutes from the night life and only minutes from the beach.

We booked this hotel purely because it had an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool as we were going the end of March so I wasn't expecting too much as it was really reasonably priced.
I was really impressed with almost everything in the hotel. The apartments were really big and had everything we needed, the staff were so lovely, the indoor poll was great (my children loved this), the outdoor pool was massive and although we didn't use it (the weather was too cold) it was very inviting and my 6 year old braved the cold and actually dipped a foot in.
We used the mini golf a couple of times, the children's play area and the games room, all which were a great way to keep the children entertained.
The gym was a bit of a let down, and after looking at it we didn't use it, as was the restaurant, the menu was a little bit limited but the food was ok, we used the restaurant once and the snack bar once - both ok if you don't want to cook or go anywhere but I wouldn't make a point of using it but that's just us.
The location is brilliant if you have a car as Alvor is beautiful and the restaurants are brilliant and really reasonably priced.
i would defiantly stay here again and would defiantly say you will have a lovely stay at this hotel.

The hotel needs something for non-golfers, little to offer if you do not play golf. The Championship course is a "minefield" of open ditches and poor lies and needs a complete revamp. Stay at the hotel and play your golf elsewhere or just go to Quinta de Largo and enjoy the best of golf.
The hotel and rooms are fine, with the staff even better, bar and food prices on the high side of expensive, the best value is to be had in Alvor and or Portimao.

The hotel on a whole was good. Paid 18euros for 2 buffet breakfast which wasn't upto much I'd suggest f you're going here to go room only and eat out also hire a car. Portimao, and Praia da rocha are all but a 5-10 min drive away and they have plenty of places to eat also a place called alvor which me and my girlfriend only found with 1 night to go or we would of most definitely gone there most nights. And for the party goers looking at going here there's a place called no solo agua based right on the beach with dj in the days and the night they have beach parties etc. all in all well worth going here

A port town, Portimao is known for its fish restaurants and shopping. The former cluster around the dock though its once-famous old-style eateries have been replaced by modern outlets. Boat trips also depart from the quayside. Portimao is the regional shopping centre, noted for leather, shoes and clothes, and its weekly market attracts large crowds. Close by, Praia da Rocha is a busy resort which boasts one of the Algarve’s most spectacular beaches.
