Very friendly and helpful owners, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Daily housekeeping appreciated and the loan of swimming towels free of charge.

Peppers Beach Club

20-22 Davidson St, Port Douglas - Map
"Beautiful, irritating and misleading."
The Peppers Beach Club Port Douglas is all about the lagoon pool.Imagine my disappointment when on arrival i was told we had a view of the street. Every bedroom image on the promotion hinted at a lagoon view. The pool is beautiful but there are too few lounges and some are in throw out condition, the fountain did not go for the 3 days we were there. The rooms are clean and well designed but why was there a near empty kitchen drawer with 2 spoons and 2 small plates but with washing up liquid, sponge and teatowel? The dining room overlooks the pool but is tiny particularly when filled with the many under 5 families staying. I was frequently tripping over pram wheels or small children clustering around mothers gathering food. The fruit is plentiful but under ripe and the rest of the breakfast fare average. Head outside for a better and tastier selection. Peppers once was known for the experience but the gloss has gone.

"Daintree Living at its best! "
You might pay a premium to stay here but let me tell you - its worth it! Immediately greeted with welcome cocktail by Neil the amazing hotel manager. A riverside resort, literally on-top of the Mossman River in the famous gorge! You wont need to pay other tour operators for tours either as you have access to 4 hours worth of jungle walking on private property. You can also swim in private billabongs on the river! Great clear freshwater swimming! The food is 5 star, the service is 5 star, the rooms are 5 star - we loved our stay. We were treated to an upgrade which was amazing (thank you!). If you are going to stay i suggest the riverfront tree houses as they have the sound of running water and are much more light. I would definitely return without hesitation. Also, if you are doing a crocodile tour - i suggest Bruce Belcher's tours - small family operator but by far the most successful as shown by our full boat and at least 8 crocodile sightings in 1 hour. Many other tour operators on the river skipped straight past what our driver could spot.

"Nice Motel with Great Staff"
Aiden and Alex are wonderful hosts who anticipate their guests' needs. They made local arrangements for us for snorkeling, diving, and touring, and were able to accommodate last-minute changes. They know Port Douglas and helped us with restaurant reservations and transportation. Cheerful and friendly.

"Great Location & Ultra Relaxed Atmosphere"
From the moment you check in with the friendly staff you begin to unwind. The Hotel has a great feel to it, open plan restaurants, pool and accomodation makes you feel in a great open space rather than the usual high rise blocks. Food was good and reasonable with a good choice , even for kids. Location wise is great , literally 5 mins in a car from the centre of Port Douglas, or catch the regular local shuttle or steam train. Wife used the Spa on site and had a great treatment again very reasonable priced and the kids loved the pool table , table tennis and tennis courts , all free. What else to say, a great hotel

Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa

Mitre Street, Craiglie - Map
The apartment itself was fantastic, pool fabulous and reception staff were amazing but the restaurant was very disappointing. The variety of food was very limited as there is only one restaurant and the menu is the same each day. When we did eat there (which we were forced to as it is expensive to travel into Port Douglas without a car) we were consistently left feeling hungry as the serving portions were very small. The independent shuttles available cost us $40 return for a family of 5, which adds up if you want to explore Port Douglas.

Niramaya Villas and Spa

1 Balé Drive, Port Douglas - Map
"Luxurious, private but with home-style comforts."
What can I say about my stay at Niramaya? Well, the staff were overly accommodating and ever-helpful. The on-site spa/massage was fantastic (paid for separately in our case). The villa itself was superb - nice and roomy, super comfy couch, a private pool to sit by and take a dip in. Amenities were great - laundry, fridge/freezer/kitchen, etc. Parking in the private garage was super easy, too. You could just sit there all day staring out over the gardens or laying by the pool. A great escape! What was not good; * No internet access at all during our 4 night stay - apparently the local exchange had issues, but we couldn't even connect to the WiFi so this pointed to an internal network issue... I cant' say for sure, but it was inconvenient to say the least. * The bugs and frogs. Don't get me wrong, I love nature. Having the world's loudest cricket 2m from your bed - and about a dozen frogs croaking away night after night mean't I didn't get much sleep. Thankfully I caught up on the missing shut-eye during the day! This isn't the villa's fault, of course, but it made the experience a bit annoying. Keep it in mind if you're a light sleeper.

Port Douglas is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Port Douglas, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Port Douglas hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
