"A great place to relax"
So many people seem to make only a day trip to the Daintree, and yet it's one of the most magical places in our vast country! In particular, Cape Tribulation is beautiful, pristine and relaxed and is a place to spend time, not rush in and out. Ferntree Rainforest Lodge is a wonderful place to stay - we've stayed there three times and each time choose to stay longer than the previous time! If you're after day spas and silver service this resort is not for you. But if you want clean comfortable cabins or hotel rooms, relaxed surroundings, good facilities and a very pleasant and reliable restaurant - and a place to simply enjoy the natural environment - then this is a wonderful choice. The staff are very helpful and will organise activities for you - don't miss the night walk, "Jungle Surfing" and the reef trip from Cape Trib itself (very different to the reef trips from Cairns or Port Douglas). In particular I recommend the Loft Cabins - very roomy, the kids love the loft and there is nothing better than sitting on the deck (each has its own) especially at night. We have 4 children who, over the years we've been visiting, have ranged from toddlers to age 25, and all look forward to returning each time. There's no mobile phone reception and paid WIFI only works in a limited area of the resort (but you can sit in the lounge and use it if you need to) so the family can remember how to read, talk, play games and explore!

"Made for everyone who loves the rainforest"
We stayed at Crocodylus for 1 night and we enjoyed the place. We arrived in the afternoon and the reception wasn´t attended yet but fortunately everything was organised and we found a little information with our names on. So we could make ourselves at home and had a look around. As we were visiting in the off season we were the only little group staying at Crocodiles which felt a little bit adventurous. The room was spacious and clean and I would recommend my friends this place.

"Tranquil, relaxing & beautiful spot"
My 12 year old daughter & I spent 3 nights here at the beginning of August. We slept so well in the peaceful location. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Yes a bus party stayed one night (20 people) but this did not interfere with the ambiance. The decor of the cabins is in keeping with the ambiance - it is not modern but is very comfortable. The view from the restaurant to the creek & rainforest is lovely.

"Cosy and comfortable"
One night stay as part of FNQ tour. Was exactly as expected from research and reviews. Compact, fully self contained one bedroom cabin in the midst of the Daintree forest. Just across the road from a wide sandy beach with views north to the Cape. Cafe across the road has seasonal openning and closing hours , check there if you intend to take advantage of this option. Otherwise several kms drive to Cow Bay for local hotel for meals and drinks. Owners responded to email enquiries quickly and with the required information. They live off site and make arrangements for your arrival no matter what time that is. Well done.

"Great choice"
My friend and I stayed at this hotel recently and it was really fantastic. As a travel agent I am usually quite picky, however this motel/hotel was exactly what I was looking for in the Daintree Rainforest. We were spoilt as we were the only guests at this hotel, we had the whole place to ourselves which was magical. No internet reception or phone reception (however they were kind enough to allow us their private access for a few minutes) but that just added to the magic of the rainforest. The hotel manager did everything possible to accommodate us and make us feel comfortable, and even gave us a room upgrade. A huge thank you for our great stay :)

"Very nice bed and breakfast in a beautiful setting"
Matt, the host, is extremely welcoming and an excellent source of information on the area and Australia. We really enjoyed our conversations with him. If you're looking for a back to nature, tropical rain forest experience, this is the place. The house is lovely.

"Very nice cottages in Mossman Gorge. "
This is a lodge with a main building then with each room being a separate cottage situated around the property. We stayed in a "river" cottage which positioned us with a view of the Mossman river. Our rate included full breakfast from a buffet or a menu. The buffet was excellent! We had dinner on 1 evening and we were quite disappointed. The staff was a bit surly and selection was minimal. The dining room is open air and there were no bugs to speak of. There is wi-fi in the main building, which is free but slow. The rooms were nicely furnished. Floors were beautiful silky oak, the bathroom was clean and enticing. The cottage had a balcony with chairs and a hammock. The room had sliding glass doors with sliding screens. There is a beautiful swimming pool on property built into a grove of plants and trees. Our arrival was heavenly............we were walked to our cottage where new age music was playing on a Bose Wave, candles were lit in the room and on the balcony and the A/C was on. There was a list of things to do plus the lodge would take you several places if you had no car. There is a spa on premises however we did not check it out. The only con was the walking from the cottage to the main lodge, although a golf cart could have been called. It was extremely up and down on the path and a physically challenged individual would have a difficult time on the paths.

"Perfect!"
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and just general nice-ness of our room! Perfect combination of being surrounded by nature (with the boadwalks to the rooms, the nature walk on the property, and waking up to the sound of birds and other animals!) and being in a comfortable and clean room. Can't recommend this hotel enough.

Daintree is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Daintree, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Daintree hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
