When we arrived on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, the staff neglected to tell us that the Grand Buffet was closed. We found out the next day that it was due to at least 50 people who got sick from Canada there for a wedding. You can look this up in the Playa del Carmen News. We were as well as everyone else, without water in our shower, sink, and toilet for the whole weekend and no communication from staff as to why. The Grand Buffet did not reopen until Tuesday evening but we were afraid to eat there so went off the property to eat. Our mini fridge was never restocked and this was after 6-7 phone calls a day to guest services. The elevator in our building was out of order. The service outside was terrible . We sat by the pool for 5 hours one day and the waitress came to take our order once. They were not telling new people registering that the water was not working and the Grand Buffet was closed. We have tried to get a partial refund but have had no luck. We will never go back.
