The bed was hard as a rock and the curtains had black mold all over the bottom of them.

Great view and very affordable, room was a bit dated. Carrying luggage up and down the cliff and dealing with parking was not ideal but worth it overall.

Great stay

We were surprised that Villa Mara is a large house in a neighborhood. The entire place is very well maintained and comfortable. There are multiple sitting areas with fire pits on the property. Upon arrival we were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff offering refreshments and help with our luggage. The room was extremely nice. The bathroom had heated floors, a tub and shower. The complimentary breakfast is in line with any fine restaurant. The staff will provide beverage refreshments at anytime upon request in the bar. This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed.

We checked in and the lady at the desk gave me the wrong keys. I got to the room and the key didn't work. The fireplace didn't work and the room was noisy and on the street. They said the hotel was at half capacity so they should have given us a better room but they didn't.

Pet-friendly Redwood cottage. Comes with an electric fireplace. An additional bed upstairs. Spacious. Close to the beach- pleasant walk. Parking is good- get there early. Walk to eateries and the beach.
