The hotel is a diamond in the rough. Sicily is not geared for tourists but Hotel Conchiglia D'oro is fantastic. James, Rosy, Roberto, Stefania and Antonio could not have been more helpful and accommodating. It is an easy 15 minute walk to Mondello beach which is easily one of the best beaches in Europe. Our room with the balcony is lovely and a great bathroom / shower for Med Europe. Breakfast is solid too. Great place to stay near a great beach.

We stayed for a week and had a great time. Staff are very friendly, rooms are clean & maintained daily by the cleaners. There are good choices for breakfast and the swimming pool is pleasant and a decent size. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and surrounded by incredible views of the mountains, whilst also only being a 10 minute walk from the beach & 15 from the square with great restaurants. The hotel could use some renovation as some aspects look quite dated, but it’s nothing major. Some staff don’t speak much English which at first can make communication difficult, so I would advise learning some basic Italian in advance to make it a bit easier for yourself. Overall, highly recommended for a reasonable price point. Would definitely return!

The air conditioning in the room was inadequate. I called and requested that they fix it but it still was not cooling. I suspect they need to either change or clean the filters, or do some other maintenance on their ac unit

Good place to recharge batteries

We had a pleasant stay with incredibly helpful staff. There was a vintage charm to the place, with a lovely pool area. It was easy to either sunbathe or sit under the pine trees and there was a tranquility to the stay. If you didn’t have a access to transport the seafront was a reasonable walk away, so some planning has important.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The rooms that do not overlook the pool are modern and bright. Very clean. Great shower, comfy bed. Wifi a bit patchy. Breakfast and restaurant were fine. It is a good location for visiting Palermo on the bus. Great to have a pool, and also car parking.

Location is great if you want to be close to Mondello Beach. Staff are lovely, warm and helpful. Pool is clean and well sized. But everything else about this property is quite dingy and limited. The food, especially the breakfast, was poor. The beds were dreadful. And the rooms and hallways are gloomy. This hotel is in dire need of a renovation and some investment in services.
