The location is super convenient however parking prices are absurd per night! 46$ Deposit is somehow 150$ Room is honestly pretty small for the size of the bed.

It is a beautiful and clean hotel. I would have liked a better introduction to the spa amenities, the front desk just showed me on the map but didn't go over anything further. It is a bit confusing with all of the members and understanding what is the member areas vs a hotel guest. Overall it was a nice stay and I would go back.

First let me start with the good.... The staff was amazing & on top of any issues/concerns we had. We communicated via text & they would respond & act (if necessary) right away. Now the not-so-good..... look, it's a Motel, so you can't expect a 4-5 star experience. The ratings for this Motel were really good, which is mostly why I opted to stay there. The room was advertised as newly remodeled, which it was. However, it was like the remodel was done with glue & tape... wood floors were squishy & lifting in areas. The shower handle fell off. There was no toilet paper at all & no tp holder (both were resolved quickly), & after the first night, I noticed a rather unpleasant looking stain (not caused by me) at the foot area of the fitted sheet. Again, also remedied right away. So while I get it's a motel & not the Hyatt, it still wasn't cheap & I have some reasonable expectations & yet I was disappointed. With all that said, the staff was GREAT & very responsive... so for that alone, I would recommend this location.

Very cute boutique hotel but historic. If you don’t go in hoping for the Ritz, I think you’ll fall in love with this little gem of an ocean side hotel. The room was large with a separate bedroom, living room and kitchenette and had the most spectacular ocean view. The property was well maintained, clean and walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, bars and great shopping. The lobby offered 24/7 complimentary beverages (sodas, waters and juices) and snacks. There is also a nice wine and beer selection for purchase. The complimentary breakfast (buffet) was well done. Staff was very friendly and helpful. In the building across from the lobby is a rooftop terrace that was perfect for sipping cocktails at sunset. The Pentai Inn is our new favorite spot in Downtown La Jolla. We look forward to going back!
