The room was clean and the staff was super friendly. It was very outdated and had the smell of an old motel. The beds were uncomfortable. The bathroom was outdated and super small. Location was good, price was good, and it had a kitchenette.

Best Bang for your buck and clean!

Room was clean, great customer service, great ocean view from 3rd floor balcony and great price! Ignore the negatives. If you want affordable and clean this is the place. Beach access was amazing as well!

The room was a great size. Beds too small. You could tell it had been closed up all winter. The room smelled musty and there was mold around the outside door frame on the inside and on the couch.

Let me preface this by saying this is not the worst place I've stayed in Ocean City. Only based on my room there is much work that needs to be done. Let's start with the cons. Property lists free wi-fi. Not only could I not connect to wifi, Surf Inn's network never appeared on my list of available networks. I did bring this to the attention to the front desk staff and all he could offer was to tell me to turn my laptop off and on. Needless to say I was disconnected all weekend. Other issues include only one of the burners on the 2 burner stove worked, the exhaust fan in the bathroom is actually hanging down from the ceiling and also inoperable, the toilet apparently is not connected to the flange tightly because it moves quite a bit when you go to sit down. The carafe for the coffee maker isn't the correct one and doesn't fit properly in the coffee maker. Place has an issue with these small gnat like flies. I'd swat a couple and more just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. On the plus side. The young man at the front desk is very friendly and courteous. The room is very spacious. This is an older motel and I bet in its hey day this was a place people flocked to. It's off season so pool was closed but the pool area looked very nice. It's only a short walk to the beach and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. I really believe with a little TLC this place could be a real gem again. I give it 3/5 stars. The price was reasonable, I'd give it another chance.
