The outdoor pool was closed We had a rude lady in the breakfast area that was very rude to my 17 year old autistic daughter Also the door wouldn’t shut all the way leading to the beach and a homeless guy came in and took things from the breakfast area that’s right across from guest services and no one said a thing

My family and I stayed here nearly 1 year ago and liked this property so much that we stayed here again this year. What a difference a year makes in cleanliness and maintenance. This property has 3 elevators. We have yet to see all 3 operating simultaneously. In fact on one day only 1 elevator was working. The laundry room is dirty. The floors in the hallways of the guest rooms are dirty. The floor in the exercise room is dirty. The trash in the exercise room wasn’t changed our entire 11 day stay. There was trash in the southwest corner of the outdoor pool that remained there all 11 days of our stay. My wife found chicken nuggets under our tv on our first day of check in and our room wasn’t regularly serviced even after request. That being said, we really like the staff here they are very friendly. In fact I knew a couple of the breakfast staff by name. I think the staff works hard. I really think the majority of this hotel’s problems are the result of poor management. In order for staff to know what areas of the property need maintenance and cleaned the management may need to come out from behind their desk. Last year my wife and I fell in love with this property. We liked the location because it is in between 2 playgrounds which is ideal for our young children. However due to the lack of cleanliness we will likely seek out a new location for our Virginia Beach vacation next year.

The best thing about this property is the free full service breakfast buffet The room itself was clean but the vents in the bathroom were filthy The inner shower curtain was dirty Room 310 is loud because the air conditioning unit is a part of the balcony Also black dust was blowing from the air conditioning unit which is hazardous The staff was friendly and professional Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby Beach view was very nice Keep in mind if you choose a room with a balcony other vacationers can see & hear you Not much privacy

Consistency, thou art a jewel...of the sea!

Anything marked by its consistency and reliability for delivering on expectations needs widespread recognition. All rooms face the ocean and are spacious and clean with no frills but all the necessities. Location is good if you want easy access to shops and restaurants but do not want to be in the thick of it. The staff (housekeeping, front desk, breakfast hosts, facilities, etc.) are professional and friendly. They genuinely appear happy all the time. Breakfast is one of the best we have experienced in the US. Gym and pool are satisfactory. Parking is convenient--access to multi-level garage from lobby. This is our second stay within the past two months. We plan on making this our go-to place when we visit family in the area. I am a native to this city and have stayed in nearly every highly rated hotel at the beach over the past three decades.

Very nice hotel- really good breakfast . Accessible to beach and shopping/dining on Atlantic Ave. outside patio was nice and offered outside eating opportunity. The 4 on cleanliness was due to patio area needing some attention; the room was very clean.
