Great place to stay!

After a subpar night in St Ignace, we were very pleasantly surprised by The Trail Inn! Updated, clean, modern with a rustic flare! We loved the check in! Our room was quiet and comfortable. 100% recommend and will stay here again when traveling in the area!

Absolutely recommend!

Absolutely adorable!!! So so cozy and sweet!! Great place to stay! This was stop number 2 of 4 while on our honeymoon. The room was so Clean and you could tell they went above and beyond with their work! Very easy check in and close to Tahquamenon Falls!! Cute coffee place and restaraunts near by also!

The customer service was great! I could text questions to whoever was working that day. You do have to pay attention to your confirmation texts as it has check in codes and things needed for getting your key. I think its a great system.

Very old, smelly and no updates.

The toilet was so low that I couldn't use it. The bathroom floor tile was ancient. There was mold in the shower. The room had a stale smelling odor; however, the lobby odor of smoke made my asthma, cough flare up. Then only refunded one night, not two. Took forever to get someone to answer from their REMOTE location. Do NOT recommend it.

Very nice facilities, but no onsite staff. Check was unique and would have been real sweet except the lock box with our key would not open. Had to wait close to 45 min. to hr. for someone to arrive and retrieve our key.

Room door left open by housekeeping

It was most convenient to everything we wanted to do in the U.P. Arrived on a Monday and had housekeeping service Tuesday and Wednesday mornings after we left for the day. It was quite alarming to return late Wednesday evening to find our door unlocked and slightly ajar. There were 2 PCs that could have been easily swiped from the room. Thursday we opted to forego housekeeping and Friday morning we checked out. I can't say i wouldn't stay here again because everything else was great and housekeeping did apologize when we let them know and owned that it was them. I still left a housekeeping tip for the 2 days of service knowing they would also be cleaning up on the 4th morning after we left.

Strange access

The check in procedure was not good. The reservation had been made a few hours earlier and upon arriving no one was in the office and the key was in a kiosk. Supposedly a code was to be given to access the kiosk. Ended up finding someone on the property to access the kiosk. If they had not been there I wouldn't have been able to get in. A strange way to access this place.

The pick up for the key was confusing for me personally, but ive never had to do that, but the text message was very detailed in explaining what to do.

Typical UP motel. Clean. My only complaint is the old wood floors. You can feel and hear the neighbors literally just walking around. Loved they had smart TVs so we could watch our Netflix.

Room was clean. Checkin was easy, I was given a code prior to my arrival to get my key. Staff was quick to respond by text when I had a question. It was nice quiet motel and I felt completely safe as a solo traveler. They do need a sign out front but I would definately stay here again.

The price was excellent and the property was centrally located to everything I came to the UP to see. The towels were terrible, but the bed was fine. I wish there were a small table with a chair or two instead of the desk. But for the price, I can't complain.
