Disgusting hotel
It was disgusting. Mold, hair, crumbs everywhere in the room when we checked in. They made us wait over an hour extra to check in to clean the room ans it was absolutely disgusting. The manager was nice and acknowledged the issue and let us out the rest of our stay.

Valet scratched my car and broke the reflector. Spa use is an additional charge per person and per day use. Sauna was no where near hot enough, cold room felt warmer than my refrigerator, the “Turkish bath” was just a 80 degree room with decent ambient lighting. The TheraBody leg treatment was unexpectedly phenomenal. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s not worth the price.

Multiple problems
I’ve stayed at virgin before and it has been very good in the past. However, this stay was poor. First, I booked a room with a king bed and was given room with a queen sized bed. Then, there was no hot water in the room the first day. I was unable to take a shower. Then, the breakfast I ordered the next morning was missing several items, but I was still charged the same. Last, when I checked out, I was told I had a $30 overage on incidentals, however, I did not charge anything to the room. I was given $100 credit for the breakfast that I ordered because of the first two issues above.
This is the $35 continental breakfast - 2 slices of salami, a small hunk of cheese and yogurt and granola. If you purchased these items at any store, it would total five dollars max.

Terrible stay
The Elevators did not operate properly the entire weekend, resulting in extensive delays in the lobby area on the 13th. On the 14th, the elevators stopped working completely, resulting in guests having to climb stairs to access their rooms in a high rise property. No hot water on the morning of the 14th added to our frustration. The response from lobby/front desk staff was nonchalant.

The entrance to the hotel feels like a drive-thru. Cold, uninviting and unattractive. It was 2 weeks before Christmas and they had one red foil tree. For the price we expected a little more decorum. There is a club in the hotel (mid-level) adding a level of noise, traffic and a feeling of unsafety to the experience. Felt like anyone could walk in and go up in the elevators to any floor. Made it feel very cheap. If you are traveling with a family I DO NOT receommend staying here. If you want a warm Christmas feel while staying in NY over the holidays: I DO NOT recommend this hotel

My stay at Virgin Hotels NYC was fantastic! The rooms were stylish and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.
