Breakfast was yummy! Hotel was walking distance to subway, Penn Station & Times Square! Fitness Room was awesome! Elevators sometimes were crowded & took a while.

Unacceptable

This was a terrible experience between this hotel and hotels.com. Our flight in was cancelled and we could get a flight in until the next day. We tried to call the hotel directly but could not get a representative on the phone and got stuck in an endless loop of an automated system. We were able to reach hotels.com through the chat feature on the app. We let the agent know the situation - our flight had been cancelled and that we would be checking in the next day. The agent assured us that they would continue to try getting in touch with the hotel to let them know as well as to request a voucher to refund the previous night. Needless to say, neither one of those things happened. We arrived the next day to the hotel to find out that our reservation had been cancelled because they were not notified. At that point we had to scramble to try to find accommodations in Times Square for the next 4 nights. Hotels.com was no help nor was the Double Tree. We were just on our own. It was completely unacceptable service all the way around. Very disappointing

I had high expectations based on some of the positive reviews and my previous experiences with DoubleTree properties, but unfortunately, this stay did not meet those standards. While the hotel is budget-friendly, it may not be the best option for families with small children. The elevator wait times regularly exceeded 30 minutes, which was particularly inconvenient. Additionally, the rooms felt quite outdated, and we received towels that were worn out and had holes. In hindsight, I would prefer to pay a bit more for a smoother and more comfortable experience elsewhere.

Multiple rooms had no AC. Our first night we had no AC but couldn't be moved bc no rooms were available. We were brought a box fan to help and requested a second, which we were given. In addition, the sink was clogged and they worked on it while we went to dinner. Upon our return, our room was overwhelmed with the smell of chemicals, to which we were told to run some water in the sink. We sweated all night and felt naseaus due to the fumes and got hardly no sleep. We were moved the next day to room with no refrigerator or microwave. Requested but was told not available in all rooms, even though we had in the first room. Several members of the staff were short with us. One said it was her first day back to work and seemed agitated with us that she didn't know what she was doing. The only one that was genuinely nice and acted like she cared about our bad experience was Dominque. She seemed sincere and apologetic for our unacceptable accomodations, which we really appreciated. The last night of our stay, we were not given enough towels or any wash cloths. And they were just left on the chair in the room, not even folded. Long waits for elevators, even though there were 4. Would not spend the kind of money we spent to stay here again!!

Very sad experience. On a summer day in New York city the room they put us in had a broken AC. We called the front desk, who sent maintenance, who then confirmed it was not working. The receptionist informed the hotel was sold out, so there was nothing she could do. I offered to be moved to another Hilton hotel, which she said it was not an option. I went to the hotel next door, also a Hilton, and reserved a room (with working AC), the receptionist said she could checked me out with full refund. For my (not really) surprise, I was charged. Thankfully Expedia helped me (I sincerely love Expedia). Don't waste your money on this hotel. Horrible customers service and old/dirty/broken installations.

Besides the elevators taking a long time, our stay was okay. Our friend's room did not have working A/C, however, which was not ideal on a 90 degree night. There also seemed to be a large amount of dust in the air that collected on our phones overnight? Unclear if that was from the vents or the bedding. Otherwise fine.

Property was worn and tired ( torn seat coverings, wallpaper peeling, waist level rails in elevators broken off and holes left behind etc etc). Staff were of mixed attitude, some friendly and helpful, some borderline hostile and not customer friendly (training opportunities here Hilton). The elevator lines were huge at times; 4 elevators, one reserved for the rooftop bar, one for the bellhops and 2 for guest rooms so long lines at busy times. Would not stay here again.
