I took my mother to the retreat on Governor's Island for her 80th birthday and it was fabulous. The unique setting, views, staff and service was amazing. I will definitely be back!

Loved the atmosphere and vibe of the retreat. Food was great. The yoga was very fun. We were there on Thursday day/night. Many of the surrounding vendors are closed on Thursday, just a heads up if that is important to traveler.

Perfect quick getaway!

First time staying here and absolutely loved it! Rented bikes during the day, and enjoyed amazing views, dinner, drinks, bonfire, and s’mores in the evening. Will come again with a bigger group!

Glamping at Collective Retreats, Governor’s Island

Nice stay for a couple of days! During the summer, the tents are very hot, even with the A/C and ventilation on full blast! Very noisy due to boats, circle line and helicopters tours! They do have earplugs in the tent which was very handy and appreciated.

I hosted a group of ~a dozen of us for my husband’s birthday. The staff were amazingly welcoming and hospitable. We were picked up from the ferry in golf carts, whisked off to our tents and then enjoyed drinks on the deck - taking in the views of the Statue of Liberty and downtown. We hosted dinner at Three Peaks and everyone raved about the meal. The steak was top notch. We closed the night out around the campfire under the stars. Couldn’t have been better a better time and so worth it.

I’ve never camped at all so this was a great experience! The bathrooms, grounds, room were all clean. I did go on the days where NYC had low humidity so I’m not sure how hot the tents would be on the 100+ days. I love governors island but right now there is a lot of construction all around the retreat. My only recommendation for improvement would be the continental breakfast was super sparse… what they charge for the night we could at least get a banana or some toast. All in all I did have a great time!

The tents were dirty and old. The zippers in the tents and for the bathrooms were old and did not work. And we were woken up early in the morning by construction just a few feet from our tent.

Staff was friendly, responsive, and prompt with requests. Accommodations were very clean. Loved they provided shuttle service to places you wanted to visit on the island. Restaurant on site, was delicious! We'll be back.

Wish the property was straightforward about complete lack of food options on the island after 9 p. Arrived on last ferry at 9, no indication that there was zero food on the island after 9, and zero food options at hotel, also. Overall felt desolate and low key creepy and an absolute rip off for $500

We just stayed at the gorgeous Glamping property of collective retreats on Governors Island last week. Our stay, and experience overall was outstanding. The setting is unbeatable; with tents in the foreground and lady Liberty and the south of Manhattan for a backdrop! It’s breathtaking both day and night. We opted for a journey tent but we would upgrade to a tent with our own private bathroom next time. The facilities were spotless though! The little extras like breakfast delivery, s’mores and campfires at night, glamorous details in the room…all left us wanting to come back again. We were so impressed by the level of service the staff provided. It’s clear that Evan runs a tight ship when every single staff member you engage with is helpful professional and absolutely lovely. Namira checked us in on arrival and even brought breakfast to our tent the next morning! We hope to be back again this season before they close in November. If you are reading this, you must try this wonderful experience for yourself.

Comfortable Stay

I stayed in the Outlook Villa for my solo trip. Overall it was nice and comfortable. Service was very good and the villa was beautiful. I had a few issues but it didn’t impact my vacation time. Twice I had people enter the villa without checking. I know it’s a relaxed atmosphere but it did freak me out that despite having the privacy button on, people still entered. The wifi is not strong in the actual villa. It kept dropping and I ended up hot spotting to my personal phone.
