Very nice place for the price. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Good WiFi too. Didn’t love that the rooms aren’t soundproof at all. The people above me woke me up very early each day. Breakfast is a bit spartan

Great location great staff

Front desk staff was amazing and helpful and communicative and accommodating. The rooms were small but sufficient because was our hiking all day. Breakfast was good and they did to go bags. Would absolutely stay here again.

The owners did an excellent job. They seemed to be there 24 hours a day. The room is basic but clean and the shower is basic but hot with clean towel. The WiFi was a little spotty in our room but not anywhere in the lobby area. We stayed there on two separate nights while doing the w trek and the held our excess luggage. Breakfast was more and better than expected. I will recommend to family and friends when they do the w trek

I stayed at Hostal Baquedano for 6 nights as a solo female traveler (I was not able to find decently priced accommodations inside Torres del Paine National Park bc I waited to the last minute to book lodging). Finding this gem, however, worked out for the best as I was able to be centrally located in Puerto Natales and see a lot of the park by booking daily tours (every tour I booked was able to pick me up before and drop me off after each tour). It is a simple, safe, wonderful, clean and centrally located hotel with walkable access to the waterfront and a lot of restaurants, cafes and grocery stores to pick up essentials. The owners, Hector and Sandra, are wonderful hosts and are so immensely kind. I loved my stay and would absolutely stay again in a heartbeat.

This is a wonderful family run hotel. The owners Sandra and Hector are incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. They go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The place is spotless and although the rooms are small they make great use of the space with clever shelving ! Beds are made every day and the shower has great water pressure and hot water. Breakfast is great…yoghurt and cereal, toast, fresh fruit and freshly scrambled eggs if you like. Restaurants and food stores are all within easy walking distance. I cannot say enough good things about this simple but lovely little hotel.

Stayed here after finishing the W trek and before going back to Punta Arenas the next day. Hector was very welcoming, the room was cosy with good bathroom facilities (which was nice after our hike), and the breakfast the next day was good as well. Highly recommend.

Great!

We stayed here both before and after hiking the W and were so glad to return! The owners are very caring and kind. The room was comfortable and a great value. It was very easy to coordinate luggage storage with the hostel while we were trekking, as well as breakfast to-go when we needed to leave early for the bus to Torres del Paine. Highly recommend!

Hidden charges & rude staff

We were unexpectedly charged for leaving our bags. There was no mention of the charge when we first enquired but were hit with a $20 charge when we returned. The staff were rude and said it was our responsibility to ask about this. It’s a hostel in Puerto Natales. Everyone is leaving bags to go on the W-trek. If you’re going to charge, it needs to be clear from the outset. Not hidden in the T&Cs. And, if you insist on charging for this ‘service’ then it should at least be proportional to the ‘service’ you’re providing. $20 to keep bags in a room for a couple of nights is extortion. The bottom line is that this hostel is taking advantage of the good nature of the travellers who are their customers. This is not the sort of establishment I want to support.

Hostal Baquedano was the perfect place for our stay in Puerto Natales ahead and after completing the W trek. The location was great and only a 10 minute walk to the bus terminal to Torres Del Paine, and 5 minutes to the very centre of Natales- close to restaurants and shops. The owner was lovely and very helpful, helping us to store our extra luggage during the trek and this was waiting for us in our room when we returned. Options for breakfast were also flexible and able to be either had at the property or packed as a box lunch. The rooms we stayed in (one before and one after our trek) were also both very clean, spacious and comfortable with good basic amenities and showers. Would highly recommend staying at this hostal!
