"Great hotel 2 blocks from Costanera Mall and metro"
My spouse and I arrived on an early morning flight into Santiago. Check-in time is 3pm, but the hotel staff made accommodations to get us a room by 10:30am. In fact, they upgraded us for free from a 1-BR to a family suite (2BR-2BA). This is an apartment-hotel, which means that it also had a full kitchen (two hot plates for the stove) and utensils. Good bed, firm mattress. The hotel is located on a quiet commercial street, with cafes and other apartment hotels in the vicinity. A high food quality continental breakfast is included, with scrambled eggs. We stayed two nights. We had an early flight on the second morning, and the staff provided us with croissant sandwiches at 5:30am (Breakfast opens at 7).

The purpose of the trip was shopping. This hotel is directly across the street from the Costanera Shopping, a very nice place. Also, it's in a very tony part of Santiago wth nearby restaurants and bars and cafes which are safely accessible by foot, even at night.

Fabulous hotel with friendly, helpful staff; luxurious rooms; brilliant pool area/spa & amazing restaurant. Spectacular views of desert & mountains. Peaceful as out of town yet still close to central San Pedro. We were the only guests with a child (3 years old) yet felt totally relaxed to be travelling as a family. Hotel would be ideal for honeymoon, anniversary or luxury family break. Cannot wait to return!

The hotel is located outside the town so it is quiet and it is surrounded by green areas. It has a very nice pool and area to sit outdoors. The view to the mountains is fantastic.
The reservation included dinner, but this was very disappointing. In the first place there is no door between the kitchen and the dining area so you hear everything that happens in the kitchen and unfortunately the cook likes listening to bad music very loud and sing along, this combined with the music for the dining area is just stressful. We asked if the kitchen could turn down the volume of the music and received a: "really?". Dinner was not good, we all had salmon with rice and tomatoes, and the rice was without any salt, we got uneven salmon portions (my son had a normal sized piece, me a much smaller piece than him and my husband seems to have received what was left over: three very tiny pieces from different cuts ..), and only my son got tomatoes on the side....
Breakfast was a loud experience again, I had to ask one more time if the volume of the kitchen music could be lowered ....

"One of the nicer hotels, outside "center of town"."
I was not expecting the dirt roads and rural conditions that make up the village/town of Atacama. We had a wonderful time, good food, and beautiful scenery nearby. Absolutely beautiful mountains and desert. The restaurants accepted credit cards. But small items and some excursions required cash only (Chilean Pesos at the time of this 660/ one US dollar).
We had a car, but the "city" map is a bit confusing and don't allow cars on certain roads.
We were advised to not drink alcohol if we planned on high elevation excursion. I.e. Geisers. We went there as well as the Valle de Luna,! The Valle de Luna was the best trip we took..gorgeous hikes up mountain sides! We stayed for sunset on one of the smaller mtns.
Caverns also good. Atacama, It's a little out of the way, but was a good experience. We rented a car and drove up from Antafagasta (3 hours)... Be careful about rental agreements, I was charged a $5175.00 deposit as a security deposit!! I didn't find this out until that evening when I had wifi at the hotel. ( too late to call or dispute the charge w my USA credit cad company). They reversed the charge after the car was returned , but I was nervous for 3 days. I had a higher credit limit, but what if I couldn't use my credit card for meals due to the large charge they ran on my card. Something to think about.
