In general I had a good experience! The room was big and very comfortable. The hotel is next to a train station which is very convenient!
My only dislike is the fact that you only get two small free bottles of water the first day and the next day you get charged if you ask for more, As an Expedia silver member I was expecting more!

Our experience was very nice in general, specially the room was amazing, with ocean view, very big and clean. Bathroom was luxurious. King bed very comfortable, the room included free wifi (very decent), led tv and a desk.
We used the indoor pool which was really good, not too big but enough for 10 people aprox. The staff was very kind and in general the restaurants are good. We experienced some dissapointment having lunch at Travesia Restaurant, and in particular the breakfast on Sunday was a disaster, the restaurant is way too small for the capacity of the hotel, so it was very hard to find a table, only remainings of food were available and in the end we couldn´t have breakfast because the service was extremely slow.

PROS (many): Beautifully restored hotel, our room had a great view (not all rooms do), breakfast was excellent and in a beautiful setting overlooking the bay, staff very friendly and helpful with all requests. Also, I think due to my Expedia VIP status, received complimentary cocktail and room upgrade.
CON: Our room was just next to the lobby and therefore was a bit noisy at times.

The hotel is one of only a few high-end hotels serving tourists to the Atacama Desert. The desert is an enormous attraction, uniquely beautiful, large and various. The hotel offers many excursions to different spots in and near the desert, at different times of the day (sunrise, sunset) and requiring different levels of physical exertion. The staff organizing these are well-informed and very helpful. The rooms are large, well-appointed, and comfortable. The food is as varied as it can be, given the need to bring all food into the hotel from areas distant to it. And the wine was excellent. The cost of staying is very high -- ameliorated a bit by the all-you-an eat, all-you-can drink, all-you-can see policies. But it seemed worth it to my wife and me. Internet access is spotty in the evening, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

The hotel is located outside the town so it is quiet and it is surrounded by green areas. It has a very nice pool and area to sit outdoors. The view to the mountains is fantastic.
The reservation included dinner, but this was very disappointing. In the first place there is no door between the kitchen and the dining area so you hear everything that happens in the kitchen and unfortunately the cook likes listening to bad music very loud and sing along, this combined with the music for the dining area is just stressful. We asked if the kitchen could turn down the volume of the music and received a: "really?". Dinner was not good, we all had salmon with rice and tomatoes, and the rice was without any salt, we got uneven salmon portions (my son had a normal sized piece, me a much smaller piece than him and my husband seems to have received what was left over: three very tiny pieces from different cuts ..), and only my son got tomatoes on the side....
Breakfast was a loud experience again, I had to ask one more time if the volume of the kitchen music could be lowered ....
