The Hotel was very nice, very well run, clean with an outstanding staff that went out of their way to accommodate us. HOWEVER, the Hotel is located in a run down, 4th rate commercial zone surrounded by "quicky mart's" sans a friendly "AUP" (as per the Simpson's) level staffs - the little "third rate deli" staff 100 yds from the Hotel were surely idiots who when we asked for service to buy a morning bagel replied "we don't do that here". So we left our coffees on the counter and replied "we don't buy stuff here, then" and walked out. Of course we were totally aware that the two clerks at the deli were not sophisticated (intelligent enough??? most likely. But let's be PC and not judgmental regarding their customer service skills) enough to provide a coherent response to a request they as individuals were not programmed to do. So if Marriott just moved that Hotel to a place other than where it currently is ........ but then again, maybe Marriott should talk to the City of Norwich Government re slum control in the area around the Hotel?????

What I wasn't happy about was that the hotel lost power and I had to leave the hotel on my last night there. I know it wasn't your fault but it was very inconvenient. I also think you need to upgrade your internet in the hotel. There were 3 times when it took me 20 minutes or longer just to get online and then I would lose the connection before I was done typing a communication to a business associate. It was the worst experience I've had getting online in 20 years. It reminded me of a hotel in Mexico when everyone was on a dial up connection. It was that bad.

We booked the Courtyard Marriott in Norwich, CT expecting a reliable, quality experience, but what we encountered was anything but. The room was dirty upon arrival — my wife had to pick peanuts off the floor, there was trash in the corner, and a stain on the ottoman. The hotel had no power when we arrived, and the staff repeatedly lied, saying it had “just gone out,” when it had clearly been out for hours. There were no updates or apologies. I have a medical condition that requires a C-PAP machine, and I couldn’t use it due to the outage, making the stay not just uncomfortable, but a health risk. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive throughout. In the morning, I asked about coffee and was told “we offer breakfast, but it’s not free” — not what I asked. When trying to buy bottled water, the staff questioned me suspiciously and demanded cash, forgetting we hadn’t even been checked in properly due to the outage. There was no hot coffee, no juice, and zero effort to accommodate guests. On our second night, we had to call the front desk three times to complain about loud guests at midnight. The same staff member shrugged it off. I had to walk him to the room myself. The toilet in our room clogged from normal use (not misuse), and instead of helping, the front desk told us to go find a plunger they left outside another guest’s room on another floor. We had to fix it ourselves. I’ve attached a photo. For the price we paid, this stay was completely unacceptable. Marriott

Was currently going through construction during our stay so there was a lot of banging and things taped off. The hotel was comfortable. The pool was small but nice. The gym though literally only has 3 treadmills, a rack of dumbbells, and a half deflated yoga ball. The room could have accommodated a lot more equipment so I hope that changes with the renovations.

Nice hotel...make sure you ask about construction

We were put on the second floor above where construction was taken place. When we checked in we were not told this and there was no sign of it at that time. We found out by being woken up to pounding below us. We declined housekeeping during our stay. We left the garbage can outside our day. When we returned, we found that our room had been made up. This put us on edge since we declined the service and had the do not disturb sign on our door. I made all of this aware at check out and it was not acknowledged.
