We stayed here because we were attending a 5PM wedding nearby. Room was not ready when we arrived at 3:00 PM - waited almost an hour to be given the clearance to go to the room. Desk clerk was friendly and apologetic. Room was clean and very basic. Beds were comfortable. Room had a mini fridge, desk and desk chair, TV on the dresser which had several drawers. Furniture is old but serviceable. No patio or balcony in the room we had. There is a restaurant on property (we didn't have time to try it) and a convenience store too - snacks, drinks including beer and wine, and some souvenirs. Hotel is a bit overpriced for what you get, but it's one of the few hotels around so they've got you if you need to be in this area. There's an adjacent property which had a very nice bar. It's quite a drive off of the main highway (HWY 17 between San Jose and Santa Cruz) and the roads are very twisty. The surrounding Santa Cruz Mtns are beautiful to drive through - so location is a plus. Parking is a bit limited and spaces are tight. Larger vehicles will be squeezing into a space. There are a number of local restaurants and bars close by - we didn't get a chance to visit any but they looked well-attended. Nothing fancy or special about this hotel - it's been around a long time. It'll get the job done.

Tv in one bedroom but not the other. Have to walk through one bedroom to access the bathroom. No hair dryer provided. Parking lot is small but family suite includes 2 designated parking spaces. Maintenance is poor - patches with paint over them instead of fixed properly. Refrigerator is nice. Coffee maker included.

This place is super serene if your trying to get away from whatever your trying to get away from go here! This is one of the most calm and serene places I have ever been. Rooms are super bougie with a bougie price too that is the only downfall to me. If it were less expensive I would definetly come here more. My husband and I are not golfers but this is a golf resort. They do have a nice trail if that is what you are into. I would not recommend tennis shoes for these trails you need some good hiking boots it is pretty steep at times took us 1 hour 20 minutes to get through it we are in our 50's. The spa not sure why they charge double what I normally pay but I guess because they are a resort so they can I don't know. Was not able to use the hot tub or the sauna so not sure about 225 to 235 price tage for a massage hard to wrap my brain around that one. The food here is just alright nothing super special but we did try all restuarants pretty pricey and did not see any mexican food which is usually our favorite. But if you need a get away this place is it so quiet they do not allow regular cars near the little rooms which is so calm and really nice a golf cart with a driver will take you any place you need to go. We also went by the pool 1 day too. They also have pickleball which we did not get to try but next time we will do this. And they have tennis too but just for the no traffic noise and the quiet surroundings very worth giving yourself this luxury at least 1 time!

The hotel location is great if you’re going to a concert at Shoreline. Super easy to walk to and from and not deal with traffic. The rooms are comfortable and the food at the restaurant is decent. This was our second time staying here and I have to say that we dealt with more issues that seem to be staff not paying attention than anything else. When we checked in, we were given keys that had the entirely wrong room number and floor on them. We made it to the room for the keys to not work, and when I went back to figure out what was happening they realized they sent us to a room that was already occupied. We definitely felt awkward because we had been moving the door handle trying to get into a room that may have had people in it. The second issue came about after we checked out. I got the emailed bill this afternoon to see that someone else’s meal was charged to our room. Now I have to wait 5-7 business days to get my $40 back. I guess that’s my bad for not reviewing the bill before we left, but again, it just seems like mistakes that could be easily avoided.

We were very excited about our stay at Hotel Solares based on the photos and Information online; however, when we got there we learned that there was no breakfast as advertised, even witnessed a guys get kicked out because she was getting very hostile at the front desk over the misleading information. The flies though were the worst part. Flies everywhere! We walked into out room and immediately were met with 8 flies. I know because I counted and killed each one. There was no hair dryer in our room and the complimentary shampoo and conditioner were not the ones in the pictures. The rooms were dirty and not wiped down. It seemed as if all they did between guests was change the bedding and towels. We had rooms on the 1st floor by pool. I am not sure if the flies were an issue on other floors. But if you stay here, bring fly/bug spray. The courtyard was very nice as pictured, but full of flies as well. We would love to stay here again for the location, but the flies really disgusted us.
