"Honeymooners Again?"
We were pleased to be returning to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. With some help from the front desk, we were able to book a room similar to the room we had as our "Honeymoon Suite" years ago. While the room was very clean, the food was great, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, we did notice our in-room safe did not work (even with a tech savvy husband), the ice machines were out of ice on every floor and the jetted tub, which was THE reason for selecting a pricier room, had a small odor and could be difficult to use. While of good quality, the pillows were a little too fluffy and left us both with sore necks the rest of the trip. Placing the minor issues aside, we did have ice from the kitchen personally delivered to our room by Shawn, a much-needed restful night's sleep and a tasty buffet-styled breakfast in the dining room. We very much enjoyed our romantic get-a-way and as always, will stay again and recommend others do as well!

"Great Hotel, New & very nice. Book ahead popular"
Had a wonderful stay. Location is great. Breakfast & evening food options are excellent. Even popcorn machine in lobby for the guests. Beds are very comfy with VG linens and pillows. Enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Colorado Springs or Pikes Peak area. New hotel in excellent condition. Book early as it is often sold out.

"Great hotel in Colorado Springs"
I ended up staying here after an AirBnB that I had reserved turned out to be dirty (with a mouse!). The Academy Hotel was great! The room was clean and quiet, with a fridge and microwave so I could eat simple meals instead of going out. I had a fantastic breakfast in the lobby every morning, with an omelet made just for me. In the evening I sometimes sat in one of the comfy chairs by the fireplace and read or wrote in my journal. The location is also great. I was able to walk down the street to buy groceries or go out to eat. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Pros and Cons"
Pros: Beautiful property, friendly staff, food at restaurant for dinner was amazing. Cons: If you like a firm bed, flat pillows and a warm room in the summer time, then this is the place for you. I asked about the temperature after first night there and was informed that the management has a lock on the a/c temp so you cannot cool the room down. There are no screens on the windows, but opened ours any way to let some cool air in at night. I actually don't think the a/c was really working while we were there. I ended up going out to purchase a fan for our room. They were working on the parking lot, re-surfacing while there and had to move cones several times to get in and out of our parking space; should have had staff out there to assist guests. This property does not have a small store/gift shop or specialty coffee available, like most resort properties would have and suggest they consider getting one for the property.

The hotel is not bad itself but its jammed in an area with two other hotels. The rooms are not like the pictures or at least the one we stayed in. The sofa bed was very old and had no bedding we had to get some. The breakfast area is very tiny for the amount of people it serves every morning.

"Conveniently located"
The hotel is clean. Staff is friendly and quick. They offer breakfast and dinner. For me the main thing was location as I had little time to cover several attraction. It is only 15 mins from Manitou Springs and 15 mins from the Air Force Academy. There are many places to eat around there as well as an Albertson within 4.5 miles.

"Allowing dogs is a big plus."
They allow dogs which is great. They don't have an segregated area for dogs to relive themselves. Very small patch of grass in front of the hotel where guests walk in and out of the hotel. Other than that, everything was great.

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Monument, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Monument hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
