Absolutely the worst hotel experience ever. At first the room smelled strongly of perfume - which now makes sense, because as soon as it faded the whole place reeked of mold. Both the bedroom and bathroom were visibly full of black mold - my eyes were burning and itching even with the windows wide open. This is not just unpleasant, it’s a serious health hazard. On top of that, they charged €40 per night for my two medium-sized dogs -more than a second guest would have cost and more than I ever paid, even in 5-star hotels, despite this being just a shabby B&B. At check-in (after making me wait forever) the woman, who spoke no English, first ‘inspected’ my dogs in the car and then, via translator, told me three times that the dogs must be quiet, not get on the bed, and that there are cameras everywhere. If you are not truly dog-friendly, don’t advertise yourself as dog-friendly! I had clearly stated during booking that I was traveling with dogs. Even Expedia told me they couldn’t solve the issue because the hotel refused to cooperate. To make matters worse, the shower only had cold water, the walls were so thin I could hear everything from the neighbors, and I skipped breakfast because the mold smell was unbearable. Totally unacceptable – avoid at all costs. And by the way: dog hair is not nearly as health-threatening as black mold everywhere in the room 😉. Maybe you should be paying your guests €40 instead.
