"Step outside and you have a view of MV"
I had no idea when we booked this hotel that we would have the views from the hotel that we had. If you are able, book one of the apartments. It is a stand alone building that sleeps 6 with a kitchenette. I was most impressed with the cleanliness of the room. All the privacy you could ever want and when you step out onto the front porch of the apartment, the view is beautiful and breathtaking from every side of the unit. We were only 30 minutes or less from Mexican Hat and Valley of the Gods. Don't waste your time in Bluff, there's nothing there. A lot of history right there on the hotel grounds... John Wayne filmed several movies in the immediate area. The food at the Lodge Restaurant was very good, but the service had a lot to be desired. The locals don't seem to like tourists too much and I'd put them in a class of relatively lazy people with no sense of urgency to please. So, if you are in a hurry when you sit down to eat, good luck. Very cool place. We will be back.

"Very nice hotel. We got a wonderful room!"
We got a wonderful room, right on the corner, with a view to the east and to the north. The view was spectacular! The room was clean and recently updated. The only complaint I would have is there was no free breakfast.

"Very Nice place to crash out"
This place was a Oasis in the middle of nowhere in a town of a little over 300. Really clean and fresh right down to the linens. The breakfast was home cooked and not like the big chain hotels and motels. Right down to the fresh flowers and fresh fruit juices and coffee. My wife cannot stop talking about the bathroom! It was so elegant and romantic. Okay enough of that. Lets move on to the bed. So comfortable... Enough said...

"Cute Cottage in Cute Town"
The cottage was adorable and well decorated. It was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. We arrived at night and it was a little difficult to see where we were going when following the directions in that area at night. However, the town in the morning was so cute and we really loved getting to sit outside the cottage and see the stars so clearly. We definitely can't see them that clear on the east coast.

Goulding's Apartments

1000 Main Street, Monument Valley - Map
I chose this hotel because it was the only thing for miles around Monument Valley. I really had no idea what to expect. I had signed up for an apartment room as it was the last thing available. We found the hotel built up tight against it own red cliff monuments. I expected a room with a kitchenette and sitting area. what we got was a duplex casita up on its own cliff. We had 2 bedroom, a full sized living room, and a full kitchen. There was a small fenced in yard with a picnic table. The view from all the windows were stunning. The room was so private and isolated we could leave most of the curtains open, and no one could see in. The property had a convenience store, restaurant, a small museum which will tell you of the many movie stars that stayed there while filming in the valley, and the movies made. Plus a movie room where they play those old movies. I would describe this place as the most unique place I've ever stayed.

Mexican Hat is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Mexican Hat, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Mexican Hat hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
