"Stay for the hot tub, NOT for the breakfast"
This is an older hotel (the sink height is only about 2.5 feet!); but at least it is clean enough. The window A/C unit has low/high hot/cold settings only, instead of controllable by setting an exact temperature; but I guess if you stay more than one night, you can get used to it. Beds are pretty comfortable, not too hard or too soft; but we did find a piece of airline paper napkin between the sheets of one of the bed (we drove), which means that the staff did not do THAT good a job cleaning (maybe did not even wash the sheet after the previous guest?) The best feature of hotel is the indoor swimming pool (quite big too) and the hot tub. The worst feature is the breakfast. I have not seen a more shabby breakfast in a decade. No eggs, no meat, no fresh fruits, no yogurt. The only things they have are: bagels & cream cheese, bread, waffles, canned fruit, cereals & milk, coffee/tea/juice. And because Monticello is such a small town, you don't have many choices if you want to eat out either; plus, MOST places are closed on Sundays (only R&F and Subway are open Sundays). Monticello is close to the Needles district of the Canyonlands NP. However, getting into the park (211) from the main road (191) takes nearly an hour, so although driving from Monticello rather than Moab saves you about half an hour, it really is not significant unless you camp inside the park. I would strongly suggest simply stay at Moab, which is much closer to the Island in the Sky district of the NP.

"Okay for one night"
Family room is a good size and beds were comfortable. Hard to get friendly conversation out of the staff when checking in. Sofa bed sheets had not been changed as there was leftover popcorn in them. Had them changed so no problem. Breakfast was fair. Overall this hotel offers reasonable value for a one night stopover.

"Just about right for the price"
This is an older motel, right on the main highway up to Moab, so there is a lot of traffic. However, the road noise was not bad especially after 9 pm or so. The room seems quite clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is basically clean although it appears to have been mopped without being swept first. Lots of hot water in the shower :-) Easy walking distance to decent restaurants.

"Clean & simple accommodations"
As long as your expectations are properly adjusted, you will be satisfied—maybe even pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean and in good repair so I have no complaints. Stayed in a double room with comfy beds. There was enough room to move around. Was in the back building and main street/highway noise was not a problem. There were 3 sturdy but movable chairs, which was perfect for traveling with my 9 & 5 year old. The desk was a good size and had a lamp with an outlet in the base. Along with the low dresser, night stand, and small fridge, there was enough surfaces for pocket contents, devices, plates, a cooler, etc. The closet had a suitcase valet and a few hangers. IIRC, there was one of those small coffeemakers on top of the microwave on the bathroom sink counter. A few things you may want to know: 1) My fridge was tiny. If I was here more than a night or 2 and exploring the area, I'd be wishing for a larger one. (Was about the same footprint as my 28 qt cooler.) 2) The bathroom sink water pressure/rate was very low. Not unusably so, but close. 3) Speaking of, the bathroom sink was almost perfect height for my 5 year old. Woe to anyone taller than 6 ft. 4) In late November the bathroom was a little chilly (it was snowing the morning I departed). While the heater worked fine for most of the room, I propped the hair dryer on the floor before getting in the shower, which helped. A suggestion for management: install an infrared lamp (there's already a timer in there...)

"Not bad – not good"
The motel is average. The good thing: is that a size of the room is big, we had 2 queen beds. The bad things: 1) we booked the hotel via expedia, when we come in for check in and told that we have reservation via expedia they tried to charge us double price. We are lucky that we took the printed reservation with us that confirmed that we booked the hotel cheaper. It helped but didn’t make them happy. 2) Take your own towels with you if you plan to stay in this hotel. The towels that were in our room had so big holes in it that your hand ca easily go through some of the holes.

"Nice Condo"
First of all we had a hard time finding it in the dark. When we arrived at the condo, it was very hot. Apparently the correct person was not notified that we were coming so the air had not been turned on. We called the number left for emergencies and the gentleman came right out and turned the air on, but it was still a hot night for us. The accommodations were very nice and it appears to be a new building and it is very nice. The location of the condo is unusual, as it is the only condo of its kind in what appeared to be an older and kind of run down neighborhood. We were expecting laundry facilities in the room, however they were downstairs and coin operated.

After having had a terrible experience the previous week at a different motel, we asked for a quiet room. There were many people staying the night even though it was off season. We received a very quiet room and appreciated the staff for respecting our wished.

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Monticello, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Monticello hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
