Older property that has been updated. Room very clean and comfortable. Easy walking access to quaint downtown and an excellent stay for driving to Yosemite. Dog friendly. Good breakfast.

We stayed here during a trip to Yosemite—about 35 miles out, so be prepared for a bit of a drive. The surrounding area has a lot of charm. The hotel itself was fine—clean enough and comfortable, though a bit dated. Breakfast was your typical hotel spread with make-your-own waffles and sausage and biscuits. Nothing fancy, but it did the job. We slept Okay and really enjoyed exploring the town, especially the local history museum and old jail. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Upside & Downside

The hotel is pretty good, room is comfortable and the staff are quite friendly. The lobby offers a nice coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine with quality choices. Now, the downside hotel requires guests with pets to sign an agreement that if you leave your pet alone in the room they will have the local shelter pick up your pet! Completely unacceptable! Let’s be real, you can’t take a pet into restaurant's, grocery stores etc. So there will be times they need to be in the room alone. Also one of my two nights a drunk man was peeing in the drain near my room as I walked up! Granted that’s not on the hotel, it’s on that particular guest, or visitor. But, I felt horrified and uneasy.

Overall our stay was okay. Room was fine, but we found some bugs in the room. Staff did offer another room when we informed them about it, but we were assured they have never had any bug issues & they appeared to be just aphids. Breakfast foods were just okay.

Staff took a long time to check me in at around 9 pm. Was a dealbreaker after a long day of travel. The issue at hand was, another traveler was having trouble checking in before me, and the staff was stuck there waiting on a call to a travel site for 15 minutes.

Good stay, older building with some new upgrades including bathroom. Comfy bed, nice TV, good breakfast. Noisy heat/ac, some noise from adjacent room, but not late. Good location. Nice small creek and park next to building. Very walkable location at the end of main street. Good value.
