"Paid higher rate to stayed a 2nd nite."
Above average time. Unable to book a second night at the same rate. It's based on the online price. Manager unable to negotiate a different price.

"Disappointed in amenities being closed"
I booked this hotel because it said they had a restaurant and lounge. I was looking forward to staying at the hotel and not having to go anywhere. When I checked in I learned that the lounge and restaurant were both closed.

"Great hotel. Staff is okay."
Great hotel. Room was comfy and clean. Staff was kinda lacking. Booked for one night to attend a friends graduation. Graduation and dinner was going to be a while so decided to call hotel to let them know it would be a late check-in. Called about 20 times letting the call ring till it would end. Had to drive to the hotel (other end of town) in order to check-in and not risk losing the reservation. Needless to say, that was very inconvenient. Continued calling all the way there to no avail. When we arrived, staff was hanging out in an empty lobby, right by the phone, without a care in the world. Later when we needed some help, the housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. Also the person who checked us out was very courteous. So all in all, a great hotel for not too bad of a price. Just a couple of the staff members were lacking basic staff skills.

"Nice enough for the price"
Nice enough, the building is getting a little dated. Fairly clean, but the bathroom did have a urine odor. Didn't have much experience with the staff except the night clerk who was pretty short and abrupt with people.

"Good place to stay"
These converted apartments offer a full size fridge, cook top, dishes and utensils. The front desk staff were friendly and quick to get me checked in. My only complaint was that the hot breakfast appeared to have been leftovers from previous days.

"Needs Maintenance and some 'polish'"
I am 71 and disabled and I requested a first floor handicapped room. When I reach Wichita, I knew I would not have time to check in before I was due at the event. I called and talked with Alex at about 2p.m. and he was very pleasant and said he saw my request and would do his best to get me that type room. ALEX DID GREAT! When I reached the hotel to check in, Alex had gone for the day and the lady at the main desk was sure NO ALEX! She did indicate that Alex had saved room 103 for me ,, it was perfect! Although I was parked right in front of the hotel, I needed to get 2 fairly heavy bags (heavy for a 71 yr-old disabled person, that is. The desk clerk appeared very dis-interested, but pointed to a luggage rack in the vestibule. I walked there and found the luggage rack VERY wobbly - needing repair. I believe knowing I am disabled, she might have at least told me the luggage rack was broken or offered to help me. She did neither! I abandoned the rack and got my bags out of my car and carried them to my room. The room was clean, cool and inviting. I then went back to my car and left to get some drive-thru food. Upon returning to the hotel there was no clerk around, (which was fine ,, I didn't need anything) ,, but the clerks' CHAIR just behind the reservation desk was filthy and the stuffing had come out of one of the corners. Any semblance of a 'quality' hotel died in that moment! The next morning when I was coming out of my room, I was struggling with my bags an

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
