Its cheap, but you get what you pay for

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Motel itself is in rough shape. Shower curtain rod was coming out of the wall, hallways reeked of marijuana, shower temperature varied wildly, roaches were present in room. Bed was comfy. Except the roach in it.

Would never go back

This hotel attracts very shady people. As soon as we got there, random people were asking us to buy stuff or asking for money. There were people camped out in the parking lot. Random people hanging out in the lobby that were drugged outta their mind. The front desk barely directed us to our room. At check out the front desk was no where to be found. The rooms are very run down, tub not caulked, hole in the wall, paint scraped. They give you use toilet paper from the previous visitors. The only good thing was the beds and towels were clean.

1. The front desk personnel, Wendy and Nathan, were great. Wendy is very personable and kind. Nathan did the right thing by facilitating a much needed room change. 2. Surrounding parking areas feels sketchy. But, they have a security person who walks the property inside and out from 9pm-5am. 3. Room 144: a)top and bottom sheets were literally still wet/damp, like they had been steam ironed and put on. Had to pull back all covers to let them dry out; b)room next door had 2 barking dogs, yelling people, and tv could be heard through the wall;c) loud noises from room above and a lot of hallway noise from other tenants. At 10:45 pm I requested a room change. Nathan willingly obliged. I was changed to a room on the top floor which was quiet. The saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. I will never again stay at a hotel that allows pets. I suggest that if an establishment insists on being pet friendly, they have a special section for pet owners, away from those who come to sleep. With the exception of the front desk personnel, there is nothing to recommend about this property. It does not reflect well on Expedia's choices.

This Motel 6 is a place full of homeless and mentally unwell people on social services. They have a sign that explains their long term guest policies for all of the residents on government welfare. The motel smells absolutely horrific and the room was fine but unsuitable. There are very strange looking people all over the motel and in the parkinglot, absolutely should not book.

Ok for our urgency

Rooms are dated and quite destroyed (for a lack of a better adjective). The staff was super courteous checking us in and out. The place had a smell, quite undefined but awful. Night light was broken, some outlets didn’t works. It was ok cleaned, definitely could use some deep cleaning. The bathroom door was pretty much shredded. The bed was squeaky and the mattress was super beat up, you could feel the springs. Bedding and towels are thin as paper, cheap. The A/C was super potent and the room was icy cold when we got there, thermostat didn’t seem to work, it was also SUPER loud. People rattling stuff down halls and yell. The halls and general state of the place is really run down. The area of town is a bit off the commercial busier path and at least when we got there there was suspicious activity in the parking lot, homeless people, bikers lingering by, a lady upset and yelling at a dog. It felt unsafe. We couldn’t find a better affordable place to stay at because it was an ultra busy weekend for Madison and we knew it wasn’t going to be great, but this is definitely not one of the more renewed Motel 6 we have visited.

Many guests are marginally homeless, but it did not feel unsafe. Funky smell in the corridor, but the room was fine and clean. Convenient to shopping and dining and downtown. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Madison on my own dime.
