This property should not be offered to anyone who expects the hotel, the rooms, or the staff to be prepared for guests! Upon arrival the 2 rooms which I had paid fot in full in advance were not ready for occpancy. They were not adequately supplied with "bathroom needs". One of the rooms door lock system, Room 306, was broken and the door was standing open and unable to lock. When reported to front desk, we were told it was " ok to lock and go out" and when we returned we could "call him" and he would come up to " jimmy" the lock to get it opened. This was totally unacceptable to us and requested a change of rooms but told that they had no rooms available. They said a repairman had been called but could not be repaired until the following day. Once in the room, it was noted that the bed frame was broken and that the matress closest to the headboard was on a definite decline down. Of course, once again there was no one to repair this so we had no alternative but to sleep with our heads where our feet would be and our feet would be where our head would be. It was not a good night of rest. We were told that all would be repaired by Sat but when we checked out on Sunday morning nothing had been repaired and we were not offered any kind of reimbursement. As a matter of fact not one person, management, or stateroom personel even came near our room when we were there and no mesasge left.

We opted for the Gold plan and loved it! Breakfast was included, small plate appetizers and canapés and then dessert served in an exclusive common room from 5:00. Excellent service. But the hotel needs some refurbishing and updating. The desk chair in our room was literally shredded. This is a premium property. A wonderful and historic and perfectly located hotel. The Fairmount needs to give it some love.

Delightful small hotel, in the heart of Old Montreal Staff was extremely helpful

I found the stairs very hard many times a day although I was aware of that when I booked, so it’s my own doing. However, I would like anyone over the age of 70 to not book it.. As far as getting into the place, it was very difficult as my son standing on the stairs with all the luggage trying to get through or get in the door, pushing buttons, we didn’t know what to do. Apparently there was a bit of an email sent to one of us and neither of us could find it. Eventually, my son reached the manager and he gave him a code to enter the place. Other than that, it’s a huge, beautiful clean place. We really didn’t see staff there’s somewhere for your laundry. There’s a nice big bathroom with everything you need and also another one in the living room area and nice big windows to see outside all the busyness in Montreal.

Me and my friends really enjoyed the space! I saw a few reviews about weird smells, but apartment 302 was absolutely perfect. Everything was very spacious and we had a lot of fun in the area!
