Some things the hotel and reviews don’t disclose

We booked our stay through Hotels.com because it was highly rated by reviewers and close to Paddington Station. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful but there are things the hotel and reviewers don’t disclose. It’s 7 steps from the sidewalk to the lobby; not a problem with light luggage but challenging with large suitcases. There is no lift; challenging to get large suitcases up to the 2nd floor. We booked a Superior Double Bed En-suite Room which was advertised as having air conditioning. But when we checked in, we were informed we booked a room without air conditioning. The room (221) was advertised as 128 square feet, which includes the sleeping area, a really small bathroom and the entry/shelf area. Actual living space in the room is 90 square feet (9x10)—- so small there is no chair. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable for our two-night stay and the price was good for London Paddington, but it is not the 8.8/10 hotel the reviews suggest.

Self closing fire doors were not working on this property. I reported it to the reception. They didn’t seem interested but said they would sort it the next day and didn’t. Very disappointing. If you’ve got nowhere else then do it but otherwise try and find something better for the price locally. I’m sure you will.

The staff were very warm and helpful. The location is perfect and it was reasonably priced, about 1 minute from Paddington station. The room and bathroom was clean. I would definitely recommend and definitely stay again.

When i booked the room i booked a superior double with ensuite room. This room showed it had ac. When i checked in the small print was showed me to that there was an additional fee for the ac. They would not budge on the fee. Rooms are quite small but functional. A block from Paddington station. No lift.

Great location and staff. Close to Paddington Station so it’s a short ride from/to Heathrow. Hop on/off bus stops at the corner. My room was very clean and had everything I needed (I had an en suite). Fridge, hairdryer and safe in the room. If I ever go back to London I’ll stay there again

Location!

Good location close to Paddington station. Staff were pleasant and helpful when I had an issue with my key. Twin rooms are small but perfect for solo travelers.

The front desk staff were absolutely amazing and probably the most attentive i have ever had! The place is central on many tube lines and made it easy to get around the city. We stay in a double room - and thats my fault, as a 6'3 guy the bed was a little tight! Outside that, it was a great stay for the cost and the front desk staff made it really great!
