Long weekend with a show and tourist traps

Great location for us. And the breakfast was great. Muesli, fruit salad, English breakfast. We didn’t come to stay in the room, so having a clean bed and bathroom was good enough, no need for a grand suite.

Mitre House is located just around the corner from Paddington Station in a quiet neighborhoof of old homes many of which have been converted into hotels. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast is included with your stay. Our room was comfortable, though a bit cramped for 3, with an en suite bathroom. It offers all the amenities (except air conditioning) one needs but in a quirky old fashioned atmosphere. The prices and location are excellent and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We would stay there again.

Charming hotel for solo traveler

Great location and friendly staff. I was very jetlagged from California and got great sleep here - great blackout curtains and quiet area but close to Hyde park and great cafes. Hotel is not newly renovated like others have mentioned but it is extremely well taken care of and cozy inside.

I was aware the room would be small. We visited 3 nights in March, however the room was Cold, to get warm had to leave the room. Bathroom clean however they do not seem to want to leave sufficient towels for 2 persons. Beds were OK. Breakfast was good and the staff at the front desk were excellent, and the location was close to Paddington Station.it is an OK 3 star hotel, cannot imagine what it would be like in summer with no air conditioning. Would not stay again.

I would come back again. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. There is no heating control in the rooms and we found it cooler than we are used to in the morning, but they let us have a small heater in our room.

Weekend with friends and partners.

We stayed the weekend at this hotel as a group of friends and partners. 6 of us in total. It’s an older hotel so doesn’t have all the mod cons, but it’s kept clean and tidy and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to other people. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to Hyde park and there are plenty of eating and drinking establishments local. The reception is run by a very friendly team and there is always someone there to help and answer any questions or sort out any problems. There is also quite a big communal area with sofas and chairs to chill out and use of a piano, which was great for us as my partner is a music instructor. So at the end of the night she played and we had a little sing song. There is also a licensed bar and tea and coffee on offer 24/7. Breakfast wasn’t amazing but it was ok and enough to give you a good start to the day. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

This was a return visit, and I was not disappointed. I had a very warm welcome reception at the reception desk. Yes the decor is dated, and I knew that from previous visits, but the rooms are very clean and a good cooked breakfast is available. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit in 2026.

It’s a good place and close to Hyde Park and the Paddington Metro station. However, it was discouraging that we never had a normal explanation how to navigate heating and properly use shower. We had the “walk through” on the evening before our departure. Although, breakfast in this place is fantastic and it’s included in price, which is very nice. MA & IZ
