Fair hopeful for the renovations

3/2025. Property currently under renovation. No elevator must take service stairs to reach rooms. Room itself was comfy and quiet. Staff were friendly. Can't wait to see what the new renovations hold. Room did have a fireplace and some wood was provided. Have to come up with your own way of lighting it...... Lobby does offer a pool table, fireplace and vending. No alcohol or gaming at this time. Dinner service by Nick was amazing. As well as the food.

The location is beautiful and it has a vintage charm. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but the whole place reminded me of ski lodges where we’d stay and eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant. The rooms weren’t as clean as expected and really minimal bedding for a cold weather location. I’d requested and was confirmed to have adjoining rooms but at check in, they did not have adjoining rooms for us. One of the rooms had a fireplace and heater that didn’t turn on. Due to the time we got in the first night, we didn’t want to disrupt the evening by potentially changing rooms so it was a chilly night. The next day we asked for assistance and it turned out they needed to reset a circuit breaker to make the fireplace and heater work. The other room had a missing lightbulb between the beds and the remaining bulb wasn’t working until a trip to the front desk where they came with bulbs and plugged in the very odd plug from the light fixture into the nightstand to make it work. That cannot be a normal electric wiring code. The hallways and lobby are very dimly lit which makes it hard to see. There was also raided outdoor trash cans each night leaving trash across the parking lot. It seems like it would be a better idea to empty at dusk to prevent this. It looked like a luxury location but the first floor definitely wasn’t luxurious. We may choose to stay here again knowing what to expect.

I tried to get in contact with the hotel and couldn’t. and I also didn’t like it that there is no microwave in the room. Other than that is a really nice place.

The hotel is cute and quaint but the service is seriously understaffed and not accommodating at all. I asked for blankets and and the TV wasn’t working. The dining experience was horrible too.

Disappointed

Cool location but we had bad timing. Property has just been sold so alcohol license is in limbo and the place needs money invested into it desperately. TV was tough because internet was not great.

Checked in online as the hotel suggested. It said all I needed to do was go get my room keys. When I went to the desk to get my keys, the lady asked for a deposit. I had 121 dollars total left in my account, and they charged 100. It said approved on the swipe machine but the lady said it had failed on her end and she needed me to do it again. It was then declined. (This all occurred while she was having a conversation with the manager and crying while the manager kept telling her she would try to get her a raise because she is such a good worker- Their gossip about the hotel being unfair to employees and the girl needing compensation was more important than focusing on an actual customer. They ignored me until I finally said something.) Their internet wasnt working and they wouldn't do anything but continue to say i need to pay the deposit or leave, so I took my daughter up to the top of the parking lot and checked my bank. It showed they had withdrawn the money and it was pending. I went back and showed it to them but they said I would need to pay the fee as it didnt show processed on their end and mine was pending so it didnt count. Clearly they are not educated on how basic banking processes work. I had no more money in my account and became angry they wouldnt let me have my room. They were baffled why i was rude and said they were denying me services. Expedia had to help. I would suggest the cabins on charleston instead. Much nicer than this twilight zone.
