Okura Act City Hotel Hamamatsu

"Location was the best!"
We spent only one night at this hotel. The location was the best because is located next to the train station on the North side exit. The staff at check in were great and it went by fast. The room was very clean but the beds have hard mattresses. The room size was good and the shower had the hand held type with a big bath tub good for bubble baths. We were on the 33rd floor with good view of the city. The instructions to get to the front lobby of the hotel were very confusing and were not clear. On one sign they will show that you could got up the ramp. Another sign will show up the stairs and another sign it will show straight ahead. After walking back and forth and seeing the lobby anywhere we decided to take the ramp. We took the ramp only to end up in the second floor, still had to walk and once we found an entrance we had to take an escalator down to the lobby. I feel the signs should be more specific so you don't have to be guessing when you are tired and pulling your suitcases. Because of the location I would stay here again.

"Strategy of cheap promotions to fishing costumers?"
Sorriso was a reasonable price hotel for the location and comfort. This is our 3rd or 4th stay experience because of it. But at this time: 1- the price was a least 25% expensive; 2- there was a som one else suitcase inside of our room as w get in; 3- they want to charge a parking fee with no previous agreement in the reservation;

"Average hotel in Hamamatsu"
This is a pretty average hotel, fine for a night or two. The location is okay but not great - it’s only one train stop away from Hamamatsu station, but then a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel which feels far when you have luggage. The area itself doesn’t have too much for visitors, though there is a convenience store and a few restaurants nearby (not a lot of English is spoken though). The staff at the hotel do speak English and were very pleasant. The room was decent though fairly small, with small double bed and a chair and table. It was enough room for two of us for a night but would feel a little cramped for a longer stay. It was clean and comfortable though, and there was a little road noise at night but not enough to keep us awake. The bed was a bit firm, even for Japan, but not too uncomfortable. A big plus for this hotel is the onsen, located on the main floor. It’s fairly small, with only one medium-sized indoor pool, but it was a relaxing place to go soak after a long day. The free breakfast buffet was modest but good, mostly Japanese items and a few “Western” options. There are laundry facilities, both in the onsen changing rooms as well as off the hotel lobby.

"No fuss, close to restuarants"
Stayed during a work trip. Perfect for me - a clean no-fuss room. The reception speak English. The in-room fridge was not stocked, which I prefer, as the convenience store across the road has a great selection of traditional Japanese food and drinks. A bit of a long walk from the train station but offset by the advantages of being situated close to a good selection of restaurants, convenience stores, Imax theatre and a super market. I was on the 23rd floor and there is a little bit of wind noise in the common area during the wilder days but the room had a good view out across Toyohashi, I pre-paid through Expedia, so checkout took less than a minute.

    You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

    You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

    Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

    If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

    Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

    Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
