The rooms were very cozy and clean. The property is very well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Morning Breakfast service was very enjoyable. The pool is small and to warm for my taste but clean and well kept. We will definitely stay again.

This property was amazing! Great location and the staff were so helpful and attentive. The best breakfast baskets were brought to our quaint room daily where we had a cafe table outside our door to enjoy the amazing food and coffee to start off our day. The pool area and outdoor seating was beautiful. The property is surrounded by a dense lush greenery palm trees and flowers. We are so happy we chose this property and will definitely go back.

Great location/concept, but poor infrastructure

Overall, our three-night stay at Ella’s Cottages was a disappointing one. Great location and concept, but let down badly by failing infrastructure. After a long journey, we arrived on Friday evening to discover that the cottage we were allocated was not the same as the one photographed on the booking site - this had already been allocated. Then, we discovered that the cottage had a termite infestation. We called the night porter who responded immediately and moved us to another cottage, although this one did not have hot water in the shower, which the hotel staff hoped would be fixed on Saturday (it wasn’t, due to parts not being available). In the interim, we were given access to another cottage with a working shower. We were given the opportunity to move cottage again on Saturday, but given we had already moved once and were only staying for 3 nights, we decided to stay put and live with the cold shower. Unfortunately, the air conditioning then stopped working, with us having to call for maintenance on Saturday afternoon and, again, during the night. Even when working, it was intermittent and made a screeching sound. The cottage was so hot at points that it was noticeably cooler outdoors, no mean feat for KW in May! There is much to like about Ella’s Cottages - the location, traditional KW layout, the outdoor areas, breakfast and staff. Dwight on the front desk sought to resolve our issues, but was let down by the infrastructure and offered us a part refund.

This was our second stay at Ella’s and this stay was very different from our first stay. The room we had this time (#2) was terrible and the delivered “breakfast” was a joke and very wasteful. There was no stand, table or chair in our room to set our luggage so it went on the floor. The bathroom had ZERO counter space and the bathroom floor had a soft spot right in front of the toilet.

Perfect Key West location

Everything was wonderful here - location, rooms, pillows, robes, pool and lounging area, reception staff and the morning breakfast baskets were a delightful, delicious way to start the day.

Awesome property and location BUT I couldn't sleep

I never leave a review but I had to with this stay. As far as the property and location goes-awesome! Customer service was also great along with the cute breakfast baskets they delivery every morning BUT room #20 that we stayed in had a horrible noise coming from behind the door where the furnace/water heater, whatever it was it was constantly going on and off and making a very loud pitch noise. Then the back bedroom I slept in had non stop noises coming from behind the wall from 7am sharp ALL day long so I couldn't ever sleep in past 7am and I also couldn't nap during the day because of these noises coming from behind the wall. Do not stay in room 20 if you can help it. Other than that the place would have been amazing.

A great place to stay! 2 blocks off Duval Street, so a lot of shopping and dining options are within walking distance. All staff members we dealt with were so polite and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Ella’s adorable cottage. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the most lush, tropical landscaping—it felt like our own private paradise. The grounds are impeccably maintained and absolutely stunning, creating a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that made it hard to leave. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast basket delivered to our door each morning—truly a treat. Each one was filled with the most delightful assortment of pastries, yogurt, granolas, fresh bagels, Eggs, cheese and rich coffee. Everything was delicious, clearly curated with care, and such a special touch to start the day. The staff could not have been sweeter—genuinely kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Little details like conveniently placed water and ice machines, and a great pool area, made the experience even more comfortable. This place is a hidden gem, and I would absolutely stay here again. 10 out of 10 experience in every way.

From the moment I walked in, I knew this boutique hotel was something special. It has that rare blend of cozy charm and stylish design that makes you feel instantly at home. The staff were beyond lovely. My room was thoughtfully decorated, with little touches that made it feel personal. The bed? So comfy I almost missed breakfast — which, by the way, was chef’s kiss: locally sourced, fresh, and served with love. The vibe is relaxed, the decor is a mix of modern and vintage that totally works, and the location is perfect for exploring the neighborhood’s best cafes, shops, and hidden spots. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave. If you’re looking for something more special than a cookie-cutter hotel, this place is pure magic.
