A bit dated but good value for money, hot breakfast is good but a bit limited choice and on paper plate with plastic utensils. The gym is a few cardio machines and dumbbells, but there is a little indoor pool, too.

The valet gentlemen were very helpful to me in getting my luggage up to my room, as I am handicapped. The room was beautiful. I wish I hadn't arrived so late that I didn't get the opportunity to enjoy it. The roll-in shower was great, except that the curtain isn't long enough to keep the water in, so the floor gets really wet (dangerous) and flows down a drain in the middle of the bathroom. The free breakfast is mediocre, You can barely find the place, as the entrance is through a parking garage that I had no choice but to use, as the other parking areas were not viable options for me because of my physical condition. The price is $55 per night. I was just passing through, but as a handicapped person, I would not stay there again because of the forced garage charge and the inability to find the place (I passed it three times and had to call to find out what I was looking for),

There was mold and rust in the rooms. The sheets had a musty odor. Our party had to leave and we have not yet been reimbursed.

Great location on the lake. My husband and I kayacked, fished, brought our pup along. We enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the lake. The owners were more than welcoming, anticipated our needs before we thought of them.

The staff at this hotel was outstanding. Very helpful and accommodating. We were extremely disappointed with the breakfast options. We assumed it would be a menu and because of a dance competition, which we were unaware of, The Kitchen staff decided to have a buffet, and the eggs were fake or powdered. Or. It.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unique, Cozy Mountain Getaway! I had a wonderful stay at Barefoot Hills Resort in Dahlonega, Georgia! This unique shipping container cottage in the mountains was exactly as described and pictured. I was in town for the Gold Rush Festival in the historic downtown Square, and this was the perfect place to stay with my Golden Retriever. Jamie was absolutely wonderful—friendly, personable, helpful, and welcoming! Upon arrival, the lights were on, and the TV was playing a relaxing YouTube fireplace scene, creating an inviting atmosphere. The cottage had everything I needed, including a humidifier, mini fridge, microwave, and a nice-sized sink. The bathroom featured a rolling barn door, beautiful tile, and a shower with consistently great hot water. That night, temperatures dropped, and winds reached 37–40 mph. I turned the mini-split to heat, and the cottage stayed warm and cozy. I was especially impressed with the construction and insulation. The floors were comfortable underfoot, the walls felt solid, and despite the strong winds, I never felt a draft or any air coming inside. The engineering and craftsmanship were truly impressive! This cottage is thoughtfully designed, comfortable, and a great example of turning a shipping container into something special. I highly recommend Barefoot Hills Resort to anyone visiting Dahlonega, whether for a festival, a mountain getaway, or a pet-friendly stay. I would absolutely stay here again!

There was no heat, dirty linens, stained appliances, stained carpet, broken appliances and furniture, dead bugs and insects, spider webs. There was only one roll of toilet paper for 2 bathrooms .
