Room was clean and staff were courteous and helpful. Our problem with the room was that it could sleep 4 (queen and 2 bunk beds) but couldn't actually accommodate 4. Sleeping for 4 should mean someplace for 4 people to keep all their clothes. Maybe a medicine cabinet for 4 people to keep toiletries instead of just a small mirror and small counter in the bathroom. The room had a giant, fake, fireplace taking up space that could be used for a larger dresser. Not a "fake" electric or gas fireplace but a completely sealed up and purely decorative fireplace. A 4 person room should, at least, have 2 mirrors. If you're going to Yellowstone during your stay then you should definitely make sure you,re back by dark. The on-site dining will be closed, the local restaurants will be closed, and you'll be too far away for delivery. Also, HW 20 is super dark, winding, and hilly. It's basically a farm road with higher speed limits and every other car will have it's high beams on. We could have ended up in collisions several times due to blinding high beams and twisty road conditions if it weren't for the driver assist cruise control on our rental helping me stay in our lane. We stayed here for cost but spent more time driving when going to Grand Tetons than we would have if we'd stayed in a nearby town.

After check in we realized the door bolt didn’t work so called the front desk. They came and tried to fix it but couldn’t. Offered to fix it the next day. I said tomorrow is not an option. Asked to be moved with an upgrade. They did that for us. A much nicer room in a newly renovated lodge. Overall a very good experience!

hidden gem!

Hotel Grand Targhee Resort feels like a hidden gem! I stayed in the Sioux Lodge, and the room had an old casa-style charm. There was a cozy bunk bed in the corner with a partition, a main bed, dining table, and sitting area. The balcony offered beautiful views and was perfect for relaxing. It’s a ski resort with lots of activities, a nice pool, bars, and a breakfast place. The last 7 miles of the drive were a bit scary—I was the only one on the road—but once I reached the resort, I was so happy I made it. The peaceful vibe, stunning views, and friendly atmosphere made it all worth it!

Our experience at Grand Targhee Resort was far from pleasant. The room had multiple issues: a non-functional fridge, poor internet that disconnected constantly, and very limited power outlets. The provided charging cables were ineffective. Despite listing multiple restaurants, only one was open — and only until 8 PM. Others remained closed, leaving us with few options for meals. The front desk was unresponsive in the mornings, and water quality was extremely poor, leading to skin irritation. Given the price and expectations of a resort, this was a major letdown. Would not recommend unless serious improvements are made.
