Very nice property. Room was good, however due to being on main road, traffic noise was a problem with windows open. However when windows were closed the noise was not an issue, but the room became quite warm. Great location to town centre and bus and train stations. Overall a very good stay.

Nice big room, comfy with a nice view. It was on the top floor and the staff helped with luggage which was nice. It is on a busy street but I slept through it all. Some noises from the hallway, but nothing major.

Close to train station and downtown area. The room was clean and comfortable but very tiny. During our three night stay two nights we were awakened at 2am to guitar playing, singing, yelling. The third night was quiet so we were able to sleep.

Great location and spotless suite. A shame the spa bath wasn’t working as this was one of the reasons I booked the room (having just climbed Ben Nevis) and there was lots of noise in the foyer early morning- the walls / ceiling are thin so noise travels. To be fair I used some of the free ear plugs provided and these helped! Lots of positives though - plenty of parking, thoughtful touches including fresh coffee and comfy seating area in the suite. Spotlessly clean and easy check in and out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maclean Guest House. We were able to easily walk there from the train station and to then walk to the downtown area where all the shops, cafes, etc were located. The room was quite large and exceptionally clean. It had everything we needed and then some! We highly recommend this place and would stay here again without hesitation.

Kind hosts but cannot recommend

The owners of the guest house were very kind and tried hard to make things right for us, but this stay just wasn’t for us. The building itself is very loud with creaks, water dripping, and once people move about, you can hear every footstep. It’s also on a main road through town where people drive faster than I expected and there’s near constant traffic. There’s no A/C so if you open the windows, there’s the constant road noise and the risk of midges as there are no screens. They provide earplugs which is kind but wasn’t enough for this light sleeper. After a cold, rainy day, we came back to find the hot water wasn’t working in our room. They did their best to help and make it right but it was rough to not be able to take a hot shower. I recommend staying near High Street, off Belford Road. Or stay elsewhere as there isn’t much going on in Fort William - even the locals said most folks stay in Oban. I will say that the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable!

The Maclean Guest House was in a very convenient spot within Fort William. It was an easy walk to get to the main commercial street, yet far enough away to have easy parking. The facilities were very nice. The only negative is that the hot water in the showers did not work for more than one minute in either room my group booked.

Amazing stay !!!!

It was a great experience, the room Was perfect for the 4 of us, spacious, clean and the host were super friendly. Walking distance to the train station (Jacobite train) and the centre.

This was a nice place to stay and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the walk to shopping and food/drink. Ear plugs were necessary for the light sleeper as the road noise at the front of the facility was on a busy street. Would do it again.
