This was our first family vacation and we'll absolutely be back. There was so much for our daughter (8) to do along with us! We didn't rent a car so choosing a location with multiple food options was a must and even better with the boardwalk being a 2 minute walk for even more food and fun!! Singo was a great time and we loved the activities for the kids at the Grotto pool and the "Dive In" movie! Only negative would be the front desk lady was rude and so was one of the bartenders, otherwise everything was so wonderful!

Never Again

The room was very basic and not in good shape. the front door didn't close unless you pushed your shoulder into it. The sink drain had a leak that dripped down onto all the towels and wash cloths which were all soaked when we arrived. the shower head was a large square shower head but water came out of less than 50% of the holes due to terrible water pressure and it being incredibly dirty. upon checking in they told us that the breakfast buffet was around the corner in the morning, so first morning there we went and it was a standard nothing fancy continental breakfast. This would not have been an issue until they charged us 85$ to eat it. this was only due to the fact they decided to not charge us for one of my kids. 2 adults and 1 kid price was 85$. the meal had all the normal cheap bacon, powdered eggs, yogurt, and granola. We were very unhappy about the entire stay at this "resort" and will never recommend this to anyone.

The location of the Resort is great. Walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. The condition of the hotel needs some updates. Parking lot gets pretty full after 8pm.Breakfast buffet is a bit expensive. Overall I would recommend to families with kids.

My kids and I stayed at the Island at Fort Walton Beach for 5 days. They had a lot of fun events throughout the day to attend and the live music on the deck by the beach was great. The resort was beautiful! There were a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. We could walk to the Okaloosa Island Pier and the Gulfarium. We were also only a few minute drive to Destin. I had only two concerns: the resort charged an additional $30/per day resort fee at check out. So be prepared to be charged the additional fees. (The front desk staff were not all that friendly or very customer service oriented.) And the breakfast buffet "discounted rate" was $25.00 per person. The food was not worth $25. Other than that, we loved the resort and the time we spent there. We felt safe and the resort was clean and well kept. We would definitely come back!

Loved it here.Right on the beach. Is in between a lot of places to eat and things to do. Staff was very friendly. Very clean. Had a leak in the room and money was taken off bill when we checked out so they made it right. Will definitely be returning.
