Ellipse has a fantastic location right next to Mall of Africa, and the aparthotel itself was very nice, but poor internal communication significantly hurt the experience. Check-in was confusing since I received no prior instructions, and despite arriving after the 3:00 PM check-in time, I had to wait in the hallway while housekeeping finished up. Later, I was granted an extra hour for late checkout (12:00 PM) because I was unwell, but management failed to notify staff. Housekeeping knocked at 11:00 AM and again at 11:30 AM, completely disrupting my rest. On top of that, the 6-digit access code repeatedly malfunctioned when trying to exit the building and parking areas. It’s a great property, but management urgently needs a centralized communication system.

How stay was just amazing!!!!! Staff very friendly and well-spoken no words to describe how amazing it was Mario Wilson

One of my best hotel experiences ever! I cannot say enough good things about our stay at the The Residence hotel in Johannesburg. It was a beautiful and quiet retreat from the city and travel excursions. From the moment we entered the property, the staff made us feel welcomed and pampered. Everyone was absolutely delightful and accommodating. The staff enriched our time whether it was checking in, enjoying cocktails on the patio, sitting at the pool, or dining. We stayed in two different rooms one at the beginning of our stay and one at the end of our stay in Johannesburg (we did a Krueger tour in between). The Penthouse is incredible! The King jacuzzi suite was also amazing! It was truly a memorable experience. I highly recommend.

This is my second time here. Thumbs up for it being clean this time. But for a 10 sleeper, the crockery is a let down. One pot, one pan-which makes making breakfast a challenge. Baai-no braai bak. Honestly don't think there is enough crockery, cutlery for 10 people. The WiFi didn't work. No swimming towels, had to ask. Communication with reception/reservations is a challenge. I arranged for the interleading room to be opened, they moved the beds. Leaving a whole room open unused with no bed. I was told strictly that beds not allowed to be moved? We arrived, deep freeze and fridges was off. For the price you pay, just stock up or fix the little things. Make sure everything is ready for the guests without having to ask each time for something. No umbrella for the pool, previously there was. I am not saying don't go there, it's really a lovely getaway from the city life. The place is stunning, it's relaxing and peaceful. I will go back again.
