It's a great, clean and modern hotel at a great location. If they lubricate the door hinges and adjust the door closers so the doors won't slam close, they will become the perfect hotel for what they charge.

Matrix was well located for the purpose of exploring downtown. The restaurant was nice and put on the hockey game for me. I enjoyed my stay here. It’s a little pricey.

Bed was low…and not very comfortable. Shower was great! Went to the dinning room for supper, ordered their pasta it was sooooo amazing! Coffee shop connected to the building..Starbucks, with Tim Hortons two blocks away! Coffee in the room Sucked! Glad you could get free coffee in the main lobby. Perfect location for downtown events… I would stay there again but only if in a pinch, not my first choice. Staff were really great, bartender made great Caesars!

The Platinum Suite we stayed in was like being in a luxury apartment, and with the whirl pool bath, and also the log fireplace in the lounge made it a really cosy and romantic experience. We have travelled all over Canada from Halifax, NS to here, and will continue on to Vancouver after here, but this is the best home from home experience we have had on our long holiday so far. Absolutely outstanding value for money here at The Matrix Hotel. You must treat yourself to the the Platinum Suite option, it is AMAZING!

We had a few bumps and the staff handled it exceptionally well. In fact, we were impressed with every staff member we spoke to. We returned late to a sofa bed not made and no bedding. Though it was almost midnight, the staff positively and apologetically got what we needed. Then proceeded to comp breakfast to make it right. Even at check out they were positive and cared to make it right. The property was well situated to walk to Roger’s Place with Subway and Starbucks right beside it for families. The suite was functional and we would certainly stay again simply because the staff seemed to care so much!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were good size with central air conditioning which was comfortable. The beds were very firm and only one pillow per person. We asked for additional pillows which made the beds much more comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dirty in the corners, old dust and grout. My pet peeve is travelling as a family of four and routinely being given only two towels- we had to ask for more so we could all bathe.

The Matrix has become my go-to hotel in downtown Edmonton, and I’ve always appreciated the excellent service and comfortable accommodations. It is located downtown which is close to Rogers, Kingsway and tons of locally owned restaurants that are worth checking out. I rated this hotel in comparison to other downtown hotels at a similar price point,
