Absolute GEM in the perfect location next to all the things! The view of the castle was worth every penny. The staff was extremely friendly and fast to help with anything. The hotel itself was beautiful, so clean and well decorated. I will stay here anytime I come back to Scotland and would recommend friends and family to stay as well.

Beautiful small hotel in perfect location right next to the castle. You can walk everywhere. It’s off the main road, so it’s also very quiet, we slept with the windows open every night. I also loved their very cost effective option to add early check in and late check out. I’ve been already recommending to my friends and colleagues!

Bit dumbfounded by all the amazing reviews. Definitely more minuses than pluses from our 4 night stay .. + Great location - close to central sights but on a quiet street + TV allows Google cast so you can use Netflix + Blackout blinds + Good sound-proofing between rooms .. — Tiny beds - had the twin room and the beds were the smallest twin I had ever seen / used — Tiny blankets which were very short on the sides. They barely fully wrap you... we a family of 4 all struggled to sleep well — Staff friendly but rigid / not too helpful - asked for extra blanket due to the blanket being so small, but was told that they 'don't give out / keep spare blankets around for hygienic reason - it is difficult to keep these clean and hygienic'. Wonder whether the response would have been the same had we told them some kids soiled the blankets - still no spare / replacement available? Quite unbelievable — Really high beds (not sure if specific to the twin room) - quite dangerous, my mother almost fell / slid off trying to get out of bed in the morning — Not that clean - saw small dustball on the bedside table. There were also stains / signs of mould on the wall grouts in the shower — No phone line to reception - you have to use WhatsApp, and unclear how long the wait is. I asked 1 query about the TV and someone came to fix quite quickly. I then asked another query but was instead given a survey about my previous experience, not sure they got / logged the second query at the end (I resolved it

It a small minimalist room, modern but well worn, not really dirty but worn/stained flooring, king bed against wall without a night table on both sides, tiny closest space. A partial kitchen that's actually has a smaller sink and stove than my RV. The location is excellent, the common area are nice, the room feels more like a single college dorm room then a hotel or apartment. The bedding and pillows are bargain basement, not what you would find in a Hyatt or Hilton more of a motel 6 quality. The staff was nice.

Awesome hotel in a great part of down just around the corner and a small uphill walk to the castle. The staff was excellent and very friendly. The room was very nice with a decent view. It’s a bit dated but not bad at all. I’d seek out this hotel again.
