Very Good

The primary down side is that there is no noise curfew. Also not really a common space to hang out and the toilet and shower closets are quite cramped. Otherwise, super helpful staff and fantastic location. I was grateful for air-conditioning in the room. I would consider staying again when under 18's are at school.
Great for what you pay. Rooms are well soundproofed and Aircon!!

Breakfast not worth it
For a hostel St Christophers is decent in terms of beds and facilities. My stay was okay-ish but would have been good if the people from the breakfast kitchen were friendlier and caring or possess some kind of customer service. I wasnt expecting a spectacular 5 star hotel service but at least have the decency to treat customers right. I woke up late and went down at 930am for the breakfast which I had paid extra for. There was hardly any food left - just a couple of bread slices, ham and cheese. I think they had more had I come down earlier. They also ran out of orange juice on the juice bar and asked if I could have some - the young lady answered in a slightly rude way saying they were closing in half an hour and they are not putting out any more. Come on, you advertise that breakfast is from 7am-10am, then at least have the decency to offer breakfast and not left overs and at least give me a glass of orange juice. goodness, I paid for it and not asking you to give me breakfast at the kindness of your heart. It was humiliating. Because of that, I did not even bother to go the next day though had already paid for it. Management should look into this and train their staff for customer service skills.
Overall the property was extremely dirty and congested
No ventilations in locker room as well as kitchen
And it was very smelly all over
Overall disappointed with my stay
I will never book ST CHRISTOPHER , EDINBURGH neither I recommend to anyone
Thanks
I stayed in the newer building do everything was very new and updated but that meant if i needed to speak to staff about anything, use the laundry or hang in the chill out room i had to walk across the street. Not much head space in the bunkbeds but they were stable. Lockers in room were convenient. Both dryers broken when i tried to do laundry. Easy walking distance from train and royal mile.
It probably worth the price. Poor mattress and pillow, constant in and out from people until almost midnight, craking bed.
You must be ready for company, strangers from anywhere around you all the time.
Located downtown so you are near of every touristic attractions in Edinburg.
Additionnal fee for a towel (3£), padlock (4£), morning breakfast (5-6£)
Small showers and toilets. (~1m2)
The location is really convenient, nearby every tourist attraction places. However the toilet is not too clean. But I only stay for 2 nights so it’s acceptable
It was great!! My only issue was the location. I know it was really close to the Train station and was easy once I knew where it was but I was told it was directly opposite and it wasnt!!
I spent about 10 mins looking for it in the dark and was getting really worked up :( I had to ask for directions and only then found it was a minute down the road.
Why wouldnt I be told this when asking?? Being told its directly opposite when you have to walk down the hill slightly when coming out the station is quite misleading for people like me who have no idea where it is!!
