The Holiday Inn is very conveniently located at the Picardy Place Tram Stop and several bus stops. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean.

Nice location, staff was respectful. Rooms too small and booked for more guests than they are supposed to. Hotel blame Expedia for putting room supposed for two people for 4 people accommodation.

For the money paid I expected a bit better. Steep steps into the hotel and then more steps down to get to lifts (not great with a lot of luggage). Rooms a bit tired and breakfastt was fine but would say a premier inn breakfast had more options. Great location just far too expensive for what it is.

They put sign in the washroom that if we forgot something they will be happy to give with compliments but when we ask for it they there is none. They should not put the sign if they are not able to provide. There is black mold in the bathroom.

Bed was comfortable. Room was very small. We booked a room with a double bed and a sofa bed for 2 adults and 2 children, the sofa bed was very small, only suitable for a single person or two small children. Two of the four days, we were only left towels for 2. Bathroom appeared clean but once you get into the shower stall and close the door, there was a lot of mold in all corners. Breakfast was decent with vegetarian options. Staff did not interact or greet us apart from check-in.

Good hotel but expensive

Hotel.is in a wonderful location near rotal mile Rooms for 4 are big but sofa bed is not comfortable and i ended up sleeping on the floor since they did not have a roll.away bed for this reason i find the hotel expensive.

Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Playhouse

Great location , recently refurbed so everything clean tidy and functional . Included breakfast was decent if a bit chaotic . Staff all pleasant and helpful . Overall very similar to the Premier inn York place but more recently upgraded . Bed smaller breakfast not quite as good . However would happily stay again .

The hotel was in walking distance to the royal mile, the tram, and the train. You can take the tram to and from the airport and a stop is outside the hotel. Free breakfast, but it was the same thing everyday.

The location is fantastic! Tram right out the front, walkable to all main areas including city centre, Royal Mile, St. James quarter, St. Andrew’s square, etc. room was a good size, carpet needs replacing but beds comfy and breakfast good. Got checked in early which was also wonderful when so tired from overnight flights! Many staff were top notch. Cleaning crew often very late on day, and did not seem to redo beds just make them. But all in all a great stay and I would go back. Fridges in room would be a wonderful perk.

Clean comfortable hotel, well placed for local attractions. The check-in staff are very pleasant and helpful. They do not serve meals, apart from breakfast, but there are numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The only downside is the lack of parking spaces and the nearby multi-storey car park is VERY expensive.
