The hotel is actually run like apartments, so there is limited interaction with resception unless required. This requires one to go outside and go a few steps in sometimes sub-zero weather, before entering an outside entrance. The rooms were reassonably sized except the bedroom bed is hard up against one wall on one side. Bathroom and kitchen are a good size. The TV never worked, cable system under repairs. Generally it was worth the extra space and kitchen, and the location is good.

We requested a high floor room with a nice view and was pleasantly surprised when your reception staff allocated us a room on the 11th floor with a beautiful view of the harbour. The room was very well presented and we loved it instantly. We stayed there for 3 nights and were absolutely delighted with the room. The breakfast was simply beyond expectations, and loved the wide selection on offer, especially the salmon and mackerel. The ample seating area at the atrium level offered nice sweeping views across the front of the hotel and beyond, this provided great relaxation and added to our overall comfort. It is truly a home away from home.

Despite the fact that many hotel and catering staff across Norway were on strike, the hotel was open and the staff were very helpful and informative, spending time to look up information for us and ensure we could make the best of our stay despite rainy weather.
