Gorgeous hotel in heart of Cusco. Close to everything. Courtyards and buildings are stunning. No air conditioner in room only heating and no security on windows so cannot leave these open to cool room. Difficult to sleep because room was so hot. Room service and assistance from staff was superb. 9/10.....10/10 if could get air conditioning.

The clash of the Spanish colonialists with the Inca civilization is no better seen than in Cusco where cathedrals, monasteries private estates were built on Inca stone foundations. This hotel is in an excellent location, just a few short blocks from the main Plaza, in the historic district. Service could not have been better, the Staff speaks several languages and is very anxious to be helpful. The rooms are nicely done, bathrooms up to date, but note that this is an elegant building built hundreds of years ago and ceiling heights are not always generous in the rooms. None the less, the property is exceptionally well maintained and very comfortable. It is deserving of it's 5 star rating.

Perfect launching place for your trip to Machu Picchu and only a short walk to the Hot (warm) Springs. They also have a nice restaurant that serves amazing meals at a good price. Staff was very helpful in setting up excursions around the area. Room was clean and had a large bathroom with hot water...thank you. I would recommend this hostel to anyone.

Simple hotel with very courteous staff. Has a beautiful location right next to the river. You can hear the roar of the river. Awesome! Our room was a river view room. It was air conditioned but we did not need it. Hotel is centrally located in Aguas Calientes (or known as Machu Picchu village). Hotel itself is clean and simple. It's not a luxury hotel but the pricing is luxurious. Nonnetheless we would stay there again as we want to be assured of clean, quiet and comfortable hotel and room when hiking Machu Picchu.
NOTE- If you check out early and then hike Machu Picchu, hotel allows you to come back for a relaxing and clean shower after the hike in the afternoon! That was NICE!

We chose Urumbamba over Cusco and Ollytaytambo mostly for the location so that we could cover the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Location was good. Right across the street is bus pickup for those willing to do bus or combi. It was convenient for our day trip to Pisac and next day train to Machu Picchu and then short 30 min to Olly. The train originates at Urumbamba and it worked out well for centralizing the location. The hotel is deceptive looking from the road but once you enter it has a lot of character. Every single staff person was very helpful and pleasant. I would say this was very noticeable. It was great attitude like they really wanted your business and a very influential factor in rating this hotel. Breakfast was ok, rather plain but ok. Great value and it left a good enough impression that I noticed this 'san agustin' hotel brand when I will need hotel again whether Urumbamba or not.
