hotel condition is excellent . staff is well trained and very nice. the room is large and the bed is very comfortable. the only concern is the location. paved street ended before reaching the hotel so be prepared to get mud in rainy days. the rail road tracks are right by the back of the hotel, so it is very noisy (but the last train passes at 10 PM) so could get a good night sleep.

"Overlooking river"
This is a small little city. Hotels are grouped together hanging over streets with busy restaurants and bus stations and trains. This hotel is very near the train station but the room have windows overlooking the beautiful, rushing river. The ambiance was soothing.

"Lovely hotel down a hill from center"
This is a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay. However, Aguas Calientes is located on a steep incline and the hotel is at the furthest point in a strip of hotels. This means that getting back up the hill to the train or to restaurants and stores is a climb. If you are over 70, as I am, you would be wise to stay closer to the train station. The town has little to offer except for tourist shops.

"Helpful staff and lovely river view"
We stayed one night during our weekend visit to Machu Picchu. We appreciated the early check in (free) and the option to pay extra for late checkout. Worth the extra money to us to be able to cleanup before heading back to Cusco.

"Great location"
Stayed here one night before going to Machu Picchu and it was a great location, close to the train and bus station. They were very accommodating and let me check-in a littler earlier since my train arrived ahead of schedule. The facilities were clean and you can rent towels for 5 soles; they also offered to store my bag for me. The only issue I had was that I booked an all female dorm and there was a mix up and it was actually a co-ed dorm but they switched me no problem. The only thing I can't comment on is the breakfast since I checked-out fairly early. I would definitely recommend staying here!

"Ok spot "
Wifi is Slow and no ac outlet in room except bathroom but can't complain much for one night. Breakfast on top floor is nice but if you leave your room at 4 to get in line for the bus it is useless. Suggestion get in line then send othes to eat in turns and keep your spot.

"Convenient Location, Comfortable Lodging"
This hotel is perfect for a comfortable home base to set out or return to from a day at Machu Picchu. The young lady who was at the front desk seemingly the whole time we were there was very friendly and helpful with advice and instructions, and she did a great job of figuring out what I was trying to ask in my bad Spanish. The property is nicely kept and secure, and all our showers were nice and hot. The gorgeous tile floor is a bit slippery when wet though, so exit said hot showers with care! The predawn breakfast was hot and delicious, the line to the busses in the morning is literally across the bridge, and at night we could hear the river going down its series of cascades right outside our window.

"Clean and comfortable "
Staff are very nice and helpful! Hostal is clean and rooms comfortable. Location is great. They packed us a nice breakfast for our early morning hike. One recommendation... disclose on Expedia that there is 6% charge for using credit card AND only visa is accepted, not MasterCard.

Machu Picchu is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Machu Picchu, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Machu Picchu hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
